I mean I'm just imaging here, you can kind of trick any block component, and make it work in the way you want. Just see the blogs entries as files entries. There is this blog http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... /blog/9883 , it comes with comments, and well you can setup something the way you want, but again I can be wrong, or I'm just going in the wrong direction.

You could try an install of the full one to another directory then alter the database details in the configuration.php file. Then download the extensions folders to yor pc and put them in the correct place in the new installation. Back up your database first though.

Could I just do a full install of 1.5.15 in a separate directory, with the same add ons, and then just change the db used to the original one, and change the "web directory" for that url?

With the migration from 1.0.12 to 1.5.x, apart from the migrators for the plug-in components, is there anything I need to consider for E.g. do I need migrators for Modules and Mambots? Are there migrator extensions for: 1) Docman 2) Imagelink 3) Fabrik

If during the installation of 1.5, the migration aspect complains that you have a duplicate key it is almost always a case that you haven't put the right prefix into the supplied box. http://docs.joomla.org/Migrating_from_1.0.x_to_1.5 _Stable#Step_4:_Installing_Joomla.21_1.5 wrote: The prefix for all migration dumps is "jos_", this should be placed into the provided text box. I do not think so... The latest version of Joomla! 1.5.15. The next major release of Joomla! is 1.6. Already this release is in Alpha2 stage. This would be lot similar to 1.5 than 1.0. I have seen several developers moving to Joomla! 1.5.x. You should test the upgrades and functionality before you make a decision to migrate your current live site.

When you went to the download page, did you click the Download other Joomla 1.5.x packages » link and then select Joomla_1.5.9_to_1.5.15-Stable-Patch_Package.zip (.tar.gz) ? Or did you just download the 1.5.14 to 1.5.15 Upgrade Package because it was the only update package that you saw ?

I suggest the following: (a) Copy the directory (along with files and sub-directories) where you have installed Joomla! under the directory htdocs in XAMPP to MAMPP. (b) In XAMPP, open phpMyAdmin, select the database you use for Joomla! and export the contents. (c) In MAMPP, open phpMyAdmin, create a new database and import the contents exported in step (b) (d) In MAMPP, open the file ...

Bonjour, Welcome to Joomla! and the Forum Sounds as though one or more files were missed / corrupted during the move. In a default Joomla! installation, there are 4,151 files and 778 folders!!! Which is why I ALWAYS ZIP the local install first, then FTP the one ZIP file and unZIP it once it's on the server Never had an issue yet doing it this way. Cheers! Lyle
