I believe that is how it's supposed to work. That info isn't in the blog view. If you want to display it in the blog view, you might be able to code it in the template override.

You could use a Joomla forms tool to collect the email address, etc. (and the confirmation that they want to be on the list) and then have the download link on the confirmation page when the form is successfully submitted. Or you could do the same thing with one of the newsletter tools that provides for different newsletters. The click on the "study guide" link, it takes them to a subscription form for the newsletter (with...

On a closer look, where in Joomla is the origin of this INSERT statement, or is this some custom code? With INSERT, if you do not use INSERT IGNORE, one does not specify the value of the key because INSERT generates a new value of the key through auto-increment.

OK, figured out the problem. I was using Firefox, and for some reason at home I tried I.E. and it did not happen there. Then I tried using the laptop again, Firefox, same computer as before, and the problem was there. Cleaned up everything, cache, history, page preferences, all... and everything is back to work! :-) Quite weird though... anyway, problem solved, hope someone can use of this information whenever they fall into the same problem....

Not really. If you'll log in to the administrator side, then go to extensions->module manager locate the module that corresponds to the menu you've constructed (hint, it'll be of type mod_mainmenu) and click on it. at the bottom of the left-hand column you'll see which menu items that module will appear on. Click the radio button at the top of the list that says 'select menu item(s) from the ...

Clearly something has changed. Think back and see if you could've modified anything: file permissions, etc. The other thing I'd check is the web server error log, on apache it's usually called "error_log" and may be accessible from your hosting control panel. Take a look at the end of the file and see if you can correlate an error message in there with the date and time of your login.

Under the article manager, click on the 'parameter' icon in the toolbar. You'll see 'article rating/voting' set this to 'show' and you'll be off to a good start. If you want more features or flexibility, check out the 'ratings and reviews' section in the JED at: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... -a-reviews One of the standard extensions is JRreviews (costs $$) or its free sibling, ...

Probably you have not written correctly the editor's name. Try to edit the config settings from the config panel and select an editor. If that does' not work try installing another editor JCE is a good solution

Pretty broad description, have you checked the error logs? from the command line: tail -fn0 /path/to/error/logs This will show errors in real-time. Leave the command running, then open a browser and navigate the site - post the errors.

Rebooting the server sounds quite drastic to get Joomla going. Have you tried typing in the URL of the home page and pressing the Enter key? The directive error_log should have a value, otherwise your server does not have a PHP error log. It is normal practice not to display errors in a production site, but while you are still developing and testing, you may want to see the errors displayed, ...
