Hi Guys, My progress pics after 9 weeks of clean bulk, 100 cals above my maintenance, still doing HIIT however dropped it to only twice a week from 3 times a week. For 9 weeks I have only gained 1 kg and my waist reduced by 2 cms at the same time. Please comment if you guys think I have made progress or not as I have made lots of mistakes in the last 1.5 years as ...

I will attempt maxes on the Bench Press, Squat, and Dead every week until I reach a respectable level on all 3 lifts. I am posting videos on youtube and will update progress here also. I am performing all 3 lifts frequently and lifting heavy 6 days per week. Simultaneously, I wish to get body fat level to 10%. The dramatically increased strength will indirectly reduce body fat if ...

If I am trying to bulk up, is it OK to perform cardio (being that cardio usually involves the use of your thighs and calves) on the same day that my quads, hams and calves are worked? Also, is it counterproductive to perform cardio the day or 2 after your quads and legs are worked (i.e. sore)? Would these 2 thing go against bulking up your legs?

I want to look good. But I don't want to wait for 12 weeks of bulk, then 12 weeks of cutting. I want a little more size but mostly my endeavors are all pretty athlete based. I'm shooting for 170 sub 10% bf. I'm 165 now and about 12 or 13% bf. I want to lose that fat to tone up but I'm also trying to add a few pounds of muscle. I lift 3 times a week all fullbody. And I run for ...

Some good tips for key body area development if you're bodybuilding:- http://www.larryscott.com/bio/newsletter/97spring_ 1.cfm I have a Smith machine and I'm doing the upper pec routine he describes. This involves putting your feet up on the bench. Which is o.k. if you're using a Smith because the bar can't fall on the floor. But I wouldn't do a regular free-bench with my ...

After getting to a point where I was pretty strong and bigger than I ever had been in my life, I decided that maybe it was about that time to run the other direction and start working on endurance and less on strength. On top of that I've applied to the Marines PLC program so I've got to focus more on fitness than strength to boost my PFT scores. This is what I've got for the Fall; ...

In the sister-thread to this, Larry Scott asserts that if you are a person who wants humongous Traps you might be sacrificing your Delt development. He allows as how the Traps can become so strong that they will take over the work of the Delts on assorted lifts. I've always aspired to big Traps personally....so I work them on a regular basis. I would always like them to be bigger...

Um.... How is this possible? I had a measurement taken at my gym. Same trainer takes measurements including Futrex NIR spectrometer BF reading. BF exactly the same (13.5%) two months apart. Weight exactly the same (161). And yet, my chest went up a half inch, my shoulders went up a half inch, my hips are slightly bigger and so are my legs (probably from deads). So how ...

Just wondering if it's counterproductive to do ~ 20 minutes of LISS or HIIT cardio 2-3 times per week. My reasoning for this is because I don't want to miss out on the cardio benefits of performing aerobic exercise. I do understand that you must consume a little more calories than you burn, in order to gain roughly 1-2 pounds per week. However, I feel that it's important to ...

What kind of stuff should I use to complement the Coan/Phillipi Deadlift Program? Should I work Legs, e.g. Squats, on top of the Deadlifts and SLDL? Any ideas would be appreciated.

I haven't paid a visit to John Stone Fitness Forums for nearly two years so, please don't assume I am the new guy. I am looking for some ideas to do Hamstring exercises at home. Currently, I'm lying on my chest (On a wooden box) with weighted leg straps around each ankle and, commencing 3 sets of 20 for each leg. Isolation is the motive. If anyone can recommend other ...

I'm sure this question has been asked tons of times but I couldn't find it. I'm 5'9 165 bf% ehhh maybe 12-15%. I have a six pack but not a magazine cover worthy one yet. I want to be at about 170 sub 10% bf but I dont want have to eat my way to 185 then cut to get it. So if I focus my calories on protein and still get about 2300 cals a day with over 100 gms of protein can i cut fat...

I was wondering what everyones thoughts were on bringing the dumbells together at the top of varios pressing movements be it for chest or shoulders? What are some of the advantages or disadvantages of doing it either way?

I'm going to be in Pittsburgh for a conference next week. I'll be staying downtown. Does anyone know of a decent gym downtown with a squat cage and other good free weight facilities? I want to be able to do back squats, bench press, pull-ups, and deadlifts. The Marriott fitness room just won't do.

Any special considerations to be aware of? Waking up at 5:30am, working out from 5:45-6:30, shower, breakfast, leave for work at 7:30am. Should I allow more than 15 minutes between awaking and lifting? I figure I'll drink a small protein/carb shake upon waking and sip on workout drink during the workout.
