trip to NYC - where to eat?
Published (2009-12-01 17:18:00)
hi guys, I´ll be in NYC for 8 days next week. Last time I was there I returned with 5 kg more on the scale Do you have any suggestions where I can eat for breakfast and lunch and where the meals do not have some many fat and carbs like at mc donalds? What do you think about subways for example? cheers, Marcus

I agree the belt does something. Eletrical shocks will make muscles contract. But that thing alone will never give your the results the commercials advertise.

Need help with pull ups on bar.

Pull ups are one of those things that will one day just click for you. If you can only do three, that's cool. Just keep at it, working towards four. Before you know it, you'll be a pull up master. You can do it!

Lifting and weight loss?
Published (2009-12-02 07:49:00)
To start with I have a basic bowflex that I got used. I also have a small collection of freeweights. For my workout I'll focus on chest and arms one day. Bench press, fly, curls. The next day I will focus on legs and back. Squats, leg curls, rowing, presses. I try to do a day of cardio on the next day, but honestly I have trouble forcing myself to do cardio. Each day I make sure to work in some sort of core workout too. It usually is...

More info please. We need to know your daily intake and please be more specific on your workout, my initial response would be that you are overdoing it on the workout though. But need more info to truly help.

Congratulations on your progress! Perhaps you could provide some more information on the kind of workouts you're doing and what you're eating. My guess is that at your height and weight that small belly is probably too small to worry about too much now at the expense of getting going on trying to gain muscle mass. Be sure to read through all the welcome to JSF stuff / stickies in the newcomers...

Your plan sounds good... I would say that the calories are possibly a little high... maybe better <2500 if you are looking to lose weight. I have had success by starting somewhere... tracking what is happening over a couple of weeks, then adjusting accordingly. Go by what your body tells you. I would suggest you start ~2500... go 2 weeks, then drop that by 200... go another 2 weeks... ...

I have not, nor has anyone I known, used such things for weight loss/ab exposure. However, my mother-in-law has a similar thing which was prescribed by doctors to help her with her back trouble, using the shock to strengthen her back and core without any movements that might cuase damage. I believe it has worked for her. Also, while I was in physical therapy, I saw this kind of muscle ...

What do you do for your abs right now? And what is it you're doing that factors a tense neck into the equation? How did you hurt your back? What other exes are you doing? height? weight? ex-routine? Number of times a week?
