Stacy P., CPC in Alvin, Texas said: Now it isn't too hard of a test to people who it clicks too. A lot of people aren't so lucky, I passed the first time and I was the only one in my class that did pass that year. It is not an easy test, if you do not understand coding. It's like with any exam, math for an example, we have some that calculus is a breeze to, but many others may not be able to catch on. A lot of experienced,...

SonjaT in Spokane, Washington said: Thank you! I hopefully will hear from Sinclair very soon. I believe they asked me send transcripts. Do I just call the schools I've attended and request a transcript be sent to them? Usually I've just signed release forms and the school did it themselves. They need to be official transcripts (sent in a school envelope by the school) so you will need to inform the schools you've attended that...

Heres a suggestion- maybe they are not hiring you because you are not speaking proper english and not spelling correctly ex/"I graduation with a deploma". Maybe you graduated with a diploma. You should proof read your resume and use spell check. Its free and easy as clicking a button. Sorry but some one who speaks or writes like this is a majot pet peeve of mine!!

I believe you can go on their website and it'll tell you how much that course cost.

Hi everyone and anyone
Just was wondering what the office environment is like for a medical coder. I know you sit in front of the computer all day, because this type of job is so important to be accurate do you have your own space. Like a cubical or office. just wanted to know is all.

The people who make the most money are the people who teach the classes, and the people who teach on subjects that earn you C.E.U.'s. (If you do go into this profession wait until you see some of the prices some people want so that you can earn a bunch of C.E.U.'s)
Another thing is there are different Coding categories. If you have no coding experience before you take the course you ...

I am going to start the AAPC for the anatomy and medical terminology. I may stay with the AAPC courses (if I can afford the $1200 in 3-4 months) OR may continue on with the AHIMA courses.
I looked at the Andrews School and it looks good but I would prefer online studying/combo rather than all book learning with only message boards as the online component.
I doubt if I will be ...

While you may certainly attempt the CCS exam, I have met one (1) coder who passed it straight out of school without work experience. The suggestion for the exam is having a minimum of 5 years experience.
