The site scaled the picture down, but I made this image showing the difference between a DVD scaled to fit on an HDTV (top picture), and what an HD image would look like on the same TV (bottom). It's the same image, but the top one was scaled up from it's original resolution 2.25x to match the same resolution as the bottom one. This is exactly what happens when you watch a DVD on an HDTV. (1080/480 = 2.25) Your image is zoomed in 2...

Well for loading times on Blu-ray players, if you have the latest firmware, then loading times shouldn't be a problem. I've heard people taking 10 minutes to load up copies of Up because their firmware wasn't updated. But can someone tell me how Netflix works? I mean if you stream a movie, you pay a fee right? So two weeks from now, if you want to watch the same movie, do you pay the same fee again or you get to watch that movie...

Yeah, all streaming/instant viewing is free and factored into your service plan. Netflix is too cool for school.

How I believe Netflix works, at least how it works for me, is that you choose your plan. Which has to be an unlimited plan. Mine is $8.99 per month. And you get unlimited streaming free. So Netflix is sending me a streaming disc for my PS3 and I just put that in and stream movies right from my watch now queue from netflix. Otherwise, I could just hook up my computer to my TV and watch it straight from my computer on Netflix's site.

I'm sure there are movies in your collection that are not necessary to get on Blu-Ray. I can understand something like Star Trek but if you own something like, say, Ferris Bueller's Day Off or some light movie that doesn't use its image too much then you don't need to upgrade them. Only upgrade the movies that will make full use of the improved image/sound. One thing that tends to not get mentioned about Blu-Ray players is...

I only own two Blu-Rays: In the Realm of the Senses Criterion and the first released version of A Christmas Story . My parents own a Blu-Ray player, so I can only watch the films on theirs, but the Christmas Story is more so for collecting purposes anyway. In short, I own a couple titles, but no, I'm still with DVD.

I have no idea what a flipper is but from what it sounds like, I assume both top and bottom is data? That sucks, I always like having my fingerprints on the non-data layer of the disc. =(

I still have my original dvd of the Wraith. Cool and classic little movie. And While on the subject of Fenn. I can't help but remember what happened to her in Boxing Helena. Nasty. She was a very well endowed woman from what I recall. Now how did that line go; "You lose the race, you lose your car."

It's overblown in a Michael Bay way. The last 20 minutes are so cartoonish that it starts to look like you're watching a Roland Emmerich action film. Yeah, it goes there.
