I realize this is my first post to the forum, but I owned an extensively modified 97 GP1200 for a lot of years. Great boat, I miss the hell out of mine. I felt compelled to register here and post since I experienced a similar problem many years ago. I thought the same thing you are about the angle of the carbs while carving a hard turn and fuel starvation. The actual cause of my problem was much more mundane. Just to rule this out, open your...

Mine had a similar problem. A quick temporary fix would be to try to spray some starter fluid into the air filter and down into the carburetor let it sit for a minute, and then try to start it. This worked for me, but I would still recommend taking it in for a tune-up. Hope that maybe this helps

Sounds like the carbs are getting dry, especially if it needs the primer to restart. May need to check the pop off pressure of the needle and seat in the carbs and possibly soften up a few psi.

Are you sure the thing hasn't had some major engine issue with it and that is why it is not starting? My ski's have sat for more than 3 or 4 months in between start ups and other than turning over a little longer, they have always fired right up. (Note to self. Weather has been cold, start up jet ski's tomorrow!)

Congratulations on a very nice new ski!
Would you mind sharing your final OTD price for this ski?
As far as dos and don'ts. I'd recommend breaking in the engine carefully. Don't overfill the oil, which is easy to do (check the manual for how to properly check it). This seems to be a common mistake with the Yamaha 4 strokes. If you have to dock against piers like I do, you may want to...
