One other question: Were you actually driving while you took that picture? 2700rpm should put you at 60mph or so?

Just got my Patriot- White/Dark Slate Gray 2010, 4X4, 5SPD, Wheel and tire group, power nothing! I'll post a pic tomorrow as it is now dark. Dealer was relatively nice, and we were in and out within a reasonable time. I was slightly disappointed to discover it did not have cruise control or the EVIC, but I got it at good. I wanted bare bones-that's what I got.

I think PA is number 3 for deer collisions. If I remember correctly, West Virginia is number one, and I forget number 2 on the list, but it might be Mich. This time of year we all need to be vigilant in looking for deer long the roads, especially the right before and an hour after dark, and first thing in the mornings. It's their mating season, and they go crazy and do stupid things. I guess we would to if we could only mate 2 weeks out...

You know, it's weird, SeaRiot, but over the months I've had all sorts of odd smells to contend with in my Patriot, too. They seem to just arrive from nowhere, stick around for a day or two then disappear. I wouldn't be at all surprised if I haven't had your smell (well, not exactly your smell, but you know what I mean) at some time or other.

So yesterday I decided to take the lady friend to a neat little dinner show called Arabian Nights in Kissimmee, Florida (near Orlando). Got there at about 6:45pm because I am nice enough to get the VIP tickets for us so we get a behind the scenes tour and meet the crew. (that's beyond the point). Low and behold the show ends at 9:45ish and my girlfriend and I are the first ones out ...

Update; My wife just sent me a message that the mats have been delivered today.
It probably isn't natural to be excited about floor mats, and yet I am.

Check the operator's manual. It'll probably say what they are for.

All this stuff is interesting and yet it isn't. It is interesting to speculate about what they might do when we see this kind of report. However, many Patriot owners are like me where they bought a Patriot with a life time warranty and don't really have any desire to get a different one. The one Patriot that could possibly make me change that mindset is an EV unit, but some say they have canned ...

Sounds like 1) You paid a little too much for your Patriot to begin with and 2) The dealer was just shooting from the hip and didn't really do much research. Think $2500 in both directions and you only lost $5K out the door.
