Vacuum accessories.

For one thing, I want a vacuum gauge. It is the best way to know if you are wasting fuel. I got to thinking about some of the things that used to be vacuum. Door locks, cruise controls, most of the HVAC doors, and way too many engine management systems.

Yep as stated , nearly half way is correct for temp guage. I would think your Ranger either had a faulty guage or your engine was running cool----cool engines can affect economy so you may have been wasting gas!!

Mine, after it warms up, normally runs a bit below midway, even after many hours on the road. I wonder if it's due to the oil cooler, not all have that I think?

Great. I'm always the butt of my friends jokes when I end up driving the safest car. (since I'm always so anti safety)

I agree with that opinion as well. I would not touch an after market warranty with ten foot pole.
However, if this is a Chrysler warranty then it may be worth the investment. Personally I don't think I would if I had the life time power train warranty because all the most expensive parts are covered by that.

Here, I get MPG/Tank, Instant MPG, water temp and Gallons/hour of fuel consumption.
Water temp is for safety reasons, the other three are for checking the actual fuel consumption.
I'm currently thinking to change the 3 mpg stats for the daily mpg average, freeing 2 for maybe intake temp and something else I cannot think of right now... I'm curious to see the consumption difference ...

Interesting. I didn't figure they used vacuum power for anything these days and I don't recall seeing a vacuum line running into the firewall from the engine. In fact there are only like 2 or 3 vacuum lines altogether under there. When I was doing my doc brown experiment (which isn't dead by the way, just on hold until I can solder up an efie to alter the O2 signal), I could only find one vacuum ...

Not very much, while I never ran out of gas, I went 33kms while driving on the highway before I got scared and pulled over and had a buddy come bring me some fuel. In the user manual its either 1 or 2 gallons remaining when the light is on.

Don't worry. December is just around the corner. You just make sure to stay safe for us and we hope you come home soon so you can go off-roading and take lot's and lot's of pix for us.
And thanks for "both" services amigo. Allowing to prototype your Patriot... and your Patriotic service.

No expert here, but my Pat, a dealer trade from about 3 hours away, showed up the night I was to get it with a bad coolant leak. The next morning the dealer pulled one of their inventory cars off the lot and ganked the water pump from that, so I had my Pat by lunch the next day. I was irate when I discovered the leak before I had even taken ownership, but the dealer went above and beyond in my ...

This was inevitable with the C4C program soaking up all the demand.
Now the economists are talking about the W shaped ( double dip) recession, we have a long way to go. I still have a job, no pay increase last Jan, no pay increase likely this Jan coming up. We are still in the woods.
On a cheery note, where are you on the Unitas vs Manning question. Interesting choice because...

I just bought my 2010 Patriot w/5spd. I can tell you I am surprised at how comfortable the shifting is based on the location of the shifter. I thought I would always feel like I am reaching for it. The sliding armrest helps. It is kind of dog as far as speed. The last vehicle I was driving was a 3.0L V6 and it definitely had "get up and go" when I needed it. I think the 2.4 gives me all I ...
