Yeah, drilling out a 10.9 grade bolt wasn't happening, so I pressed the inner sleeve and bolt out with a 3-jaw puller. One it was out I was able to pound the bolt out, and press the sleeve back in. I used lots of antisieze compound on the new bolt!

Does anyone have any thoughts on this (other than "it's gremlins" ) I don't want to deal with the dealership/loaner hassle if I don't have to . 1. Check for codes (key 3 times "on"-and-"off", then "on". Don't start car; if codes are present they will show). Alternately, some auto stores like AutoZone or Advance Auto will do a code check for free. If...

I'd opt to remove the front bumper, better known as the air dam, and stick a skid plate on there (4xguard has a really nice one). Gives it the appearance of more height and off-road-worthyness. I plan to do this once my wallet's recovered from the costs of a lift, shocks, and new tires... Here's a link to the 4xguard skid plates. Good point on the condensation. I hadn't thought of that with regards to having the unit freeze up, though I will say that after a winter and a half with temperatures well into the -40*C range I haven't had any issues.

I think the US sucks when it's like this. In the uk you would get a free rental and we still get stick from customers.

I ran into this same issue on my 2005 WK last weekend when I started doing some "exploratory" disassembly and like you I'm planning on having another go at it this weekend.
I didn't get to the passenger side LCA/fork bolt, but the driver's side wouldn't budge for me either. I made sure that the top of the strut wasn't contacting the body of the truck so there was no pressure on the bolt. I ...

Forget Rustys - no one on these forums has one yet.
Death wobble is not an issue with IFS.
You'll have no problems with Superlift or BDS.

Sorry to hear that Ron. We had -10* this morning and no issues starting. It did startle me when it jumped to 1500 rpm idle though. Sounded like a 'real' diesel as well

Hello Neighbor.
I'm not exactly sure if this works on the '06s, but here's what I do...
If I hold the switch down for about 5 or so seconds, it turns the ESP full off. You must be stopped for this to work though. Try it out, see if it works for ya.

Congrats on your purchase!
I'm by no means an expert, but I think if you painted it, it would end up with cracks, pits, etc from rocks.

I posted a while back about my jeep possibly consuming oil. Well today i just checked the oil with about 1800 driven miles on it. the oil level on the dipstick is about 1/8"-3/16" just above the xxxsafexxx between the bottom xxx and the safe.
When i did the change i added the 7 qts and remember it being just over the Ixxx safe top line now its just above the bottom half as i tried to ...

Was it variable directly with tire speed? Is it only in one direction or both directions? I've had rubbing noise at full lock this week from ice buildup, but only turning one direction. When the Jeep was new there was also a rapid clicking at full lock due to a plastic wiring cover rubbing on the tire, again only one direction. After I went to the stealership twice and showed them the problem it ...

Most everyone seems to like the Bridgestone Dueler Revolutions for daily driving, snow, and minor off-road. I'll be changing my GY Fortera HL's soon also. You'll have to shop around to find them in stock.

Does the vibration go away or gets worse over 40 mph? Did it start happening all of a sudden or it used to vibrate before and just got worse?
