16 gallon.... that's kinda small.... seems like the stockers were 20. maybe I am wrong on the newer trucks, but the 70s vintage trucks of the same general body style had 20 gallon stock saddle tanks. nice looking truck though

After I posted this I had some luck finding a couple of campers. I found T@b (teardrop style) and T@da. I Found a few other models that are specialized for light tow vehicles but these were some of the best... expensive too.

Cool, I can't wait to see the pictures, I just turned 16 and got my cj, but before that my first car was going to be a 96 camaro. But since I payed for the jeep and half the camaro, I still get to use it.

No 8 foot is not long enough, except for light applications
Look at two inch wide strapes rated for 8 to 10,000 for jeep tie downs. More is better

The age old conflict rears its ugly head again.
There are two schools of thought on this question. One group believes that the axles to the trailer is the right attachment. Then, there are the chain guys and the ratchet strap guys. Most agree that either chains or straps, they should be crisscrossed to the opposite side tie down points.
Then, there are the folks (like myself) who prefer to ...

that would be a pretty cool set up. definitely trailering your rig would be
better if you can afford it. My TJ is a DD and I always worry about busting
something off roading and worrying about getting back. Whats the towing
capacity of the one ton? more that enough for a 4 door?

Check out some of the teardrop forums, there are quite a few people from the 4X4 world using the teardrops. Another option is to convert a small (5x8 or 5x10) cargo trailer into a camper.

a fabricator friend has access to laser cutter and cnc machine so he has done some amazing work for me last week.
removed old fenders, filled any holes, made new fenders with steps and the top
top mounting, will be able to remove the top if it is lifted right over and then slid forward. but when it is on it is lockable and safe for all the expensive camping gear.

I havent seen one like that but if you got the space and time you could build one easy. The hardest part would be to balance it with the bike on it since they are roughly an extra 300 lbs

3 trailers here and never balanced any of them. They are old too. My camper is a 1974 and motorcycle trailer is a 1976. I don't think the bearings have ever been changed in them. My boat trailer is a 1985. I put new bearings in it about 2 years ago for the first time.

good idea man, just throw a couch or small bed in there to sleep on and
some sort of table maybe with holder for a camping stove on it? or
something along those lines. couple cabinets, could be a nice little area
in there.

I have a 99 4.0 with 33's and I am having a hard time deciding between 4.56
and 4.88. But I think if I were to tow something, I would definatly go with
4.88. I dont think you will have any problems towing with that set up.
