Taking the plunge
Published (2009-12-02 14:24:00)
Im 6'4" 220 I fit perfect in my TJ. The thing with the mods is awsome if you are mechanically inclined, but the Rubi doesn't need mods to go to hell and back.

Taking the plunge

Its going to be mostly used for taking the fam out on the beach and the occasional trail trips in the mud when I can find them. Im easily infected by the mod bug as with my truck I had before. I havent even bought the damn thing and Im already shopping for lifts and what not..lol. Ive never owned a Wrangler, Ive had 2 XJ's before. Ive been in a TJ before as a passenger, my only concern is that Im a 6'3 205 pounder. Wondering how...

WTB- Jeep
Published (2009-12-02 14:12:00)
No problem. Basically here is a rundown... CJ's built from the stone age to @1986. Weaker frame than a YJ. YJ's built from @1987 to 1995. Boxed in frame, leaf springs all round, square headlights is the give away. TJ's from 1996 to 2006, coils all round. JK's from 2007 to today. Coils all around and can be had in a 4 door version. YJ's and TJ's can be had with the excellent 4.0 straight 6. JK's use the 3.8 V6...

Best 91+ Cherokee to buy... -...
Published (2009-12-01 17:31:00)
I think they are fairly rare on the 97+ Cherokees. I see lots of earlier Limited models driving around, but very few newer ones around or coming up for sale. Not sure why that is exactly, but I am guessing that after the Grand Cherokee came out most buyers who wanted luxury in their Jeep bought that instead. Most of the Limited's I see are late 80's early 90's.

Published (2009-12-01 11:31:00)
Im looking into a winter vehicle and was curious if there were issues surrounding this specific model. It's a 93 Grand Cherokee Grand Waggoneer with 150K. According to the VIN it has a 5.2L V8 MPI and I believe it's Full-time AWD What kinda service am I looking at. Tires on TJ Sahara
Published (2009-12-02 16:11:00)
I'm considering buying a 99 TJ Sahara that from what I can tell does not have a lift kit but it has 31 x 105 R15 LT tires on it. My question is would these tires to big and rub without a lift kit causing damage or would this jeep still be ok with them? Should I have asked this in the technical section? Thank You Dan

Look at Jeep Wiki at the top of the page to find the info you need. I am very happy with my 96, the high output I6 is much stronger than I expected. Stick with 91-01

You will be fine, you may get a slight rub at full lock, but it won't hurt
anything, you may want to adjust the steering stops a little if it does.
You should really test drive it first and find out.

Price is a bit high but you are looking in canada so I am not up on the exchange rate. With 180K on the clock and boggers etc, I wouldn't pay more than $5000 US if that helps. That is IF everything else is in good working order and I knew what was in it.

First off, welcome
Sounds like you want a TJ, which is from 97 to 06. They have a lot more comfort than cj's especially!
It all depends on your budget though. The newer (07 and up) JK's can be had with the nav etc. and some come with power windows, locks etc too.
As far as motors go, they are all pretty reliable. My favorite is the 4.0 inline 6 (1991 to 2006). The newer JK's have a 3.8 V6,...

2005-2006 are 6 speed. 6th gear is nice on the highway, and it gives way to
1st gear being more of a granny gear.
