I bought another one today - for a total of four. One for each vehicle, one for my bedroom, one for garage. Could have bought more I guess - but I think a $60 (plus battery) flashlight spree is enough (:

Eugene - Thanks for all of your help. I am sorry if I seem like I am being relucant to just put a lift kit on my Jeep. When I was just out of High School I had a Stock CJ-5 with a V-8 and I was shocked how poorly my friends CJ-5's with lift kits handled on the road and how off road I could do almost everything they could with their lifted Jeeps. I like the look of the TJ with 2 to 4 inchs of lift and 32 to 33 inch tires but I still want...

Re. line length - call winchline.com and ask. Re. fairlead - you can use your roller fairlead. If new, no problem. If already used with wire, rub your finger over the rollers, they should be very smooth. Use steel wool to make them smooth again. FWIW - I replaced my roller fairlead with hawse for a cleaner looking and lighter front. Cliff

awesome post and its cool to see ur open to suggestions. I like hood hoops to protect the radiator and stingers are ugly and to be effective, neet to be really big as well. What does a smaller hoop accomplish other than to possibly protect the winch? Only other thing i can see is with the front hoops, will there be any interference with the winch-line under a hard side pull? Looks like the D-...

ha same thing happened to me. However there was still enough bolt left to discard some of those extra spacers and get the wire terminal bolted on. It's been working fine. Sounds like you may need to take it back if there isn't enough bolt left.

One thing I see you're missing is a full change of clothes adequate to the season.
I also bring a snake hook &/or tongs, and Audubon field guides.

hook it up and see if it turns on. but do not key the mic until you have an antenna hooked up.
you can also take it to most truck stops or cb shops and have them test it for cheap.

Call up Viking, they'll be able to tell you exactly how much! You should be able to fit 100' no problem though, maybe as much as 125'. Usually you can fit more synthetic line than you can steel cable, even with a slightly larger size.
