Cruise Control doesn't work
Published (2009-11-18 07:38:00)
I took a lot at my Jeep last night and found a vacuum hose just hanging in my front bumper and connected that to the vacuum cylinder I think it's called. Nothing happened... cruise control still does not work so I guess my next step is to take the front apart to check the line. I unplugged everything from the climate control module and now I get heat on all settings and it comes out of all the vents. AC works now as well... Does anyone...

The problem is not the towing... It's the stopping! 4000 pounds is probably waay to much for a little XJ to haul. I would strongly suggest a full size truck for a load that big.

Some junk I've removed from the Jeeps. I can't decide if it's worth putting the engine skid back on or not. It's a pain I almost lost teeth to while removing, haven't put them back in yet.
I've already put my Jeep through quite a bit of hell. I took a run at a steep bank and put the engine fan into the radiator. Turns out the motor mounts were shot. Replaced the radiator trailside and ...

1991 Cherokee Larado turn signal problem. I have intermittent indicator
problems. Sometimes when I put the headlights on and pull the turn signal
wand back, both turn arrows are lit and the high beam indicator lights, but
the high beam indicator doesn't stay on. With the headlights off, and
turning the wand left for a left turn (or right), the indicator on the
dashboard fog light switch blinks. ...

Excellent article man.... read that myself, then found a link to this . $19.00 and honestly, it is a pretty solid kit. I replaced the fuseable links for 2 x 30 AMP inline fuses, but that is just me.
Check it out... oh and H4 are replaceable bulbs/housings (I assume that you know that). I run the same H6054 Silverstars and they were a huge improvement over the stock lights. As soon as I get ...

My first instinct would be to check that the plug wires are indeed in the same order now as they were before you replaced the distributor. It sounds like they were reconnected in the wrong order to the dist. cap (or at least some of them are out of order) leading to some cylinders firing correctly and some not firing at the end of the compression stroke. The exhaust manifold might overheat if ...

WEll if you really want to get those speakers go right ahead, but if i was you i would save yout money. You will ruine those speakers after one jam session to your favorite song. They are cheapies not meant to last long. Its especially important to get good components since all your audio is comming from 2 speakers. This means if you do want it loud you need equiptment that can handle it. ...

You'll probably get it to work without vacuuming the system. However, any contamination, especially moisture will cause problems in the system. You also might want to find out where it leaked first, by using a can of contrast. You probably have a bad seal somewhere.
But to answer, Yes, recharge it and see if it works.

I have been experiencing this with my XJ for the past 3 years, exactly how you described it.
I remember reading on here somewhere that it was due to a combitnation of moisture and something not being perfectly setup in the rear drums. I don't remember exactly what, though.
I'm just going to upgrade to disks, and forget all about it.

You dont need anything for the intake. He probably meant water pump gasket, although most water pumps will come with the gasket so you should check it after you buy. You also dont need a new thermostat unless you want to replace that too, because the thermostat housing does not need to come off to replace the water pump.
You really only need: Water Pump, gasket(may or many not come with it, ...
