I actually haven't thought that far ahead yet. I should because this will be my first (and only) experience of having a newborn at home as a single mom (along with my other 5!). Guess I need to start researching how to cook and freeze.... have never done that before but then again I have always had help in the form of my husband. I was fighting back freaking out the last day or two because I haven't even gotten a car seat for this...

H1N1 (did u get the vaccine?) help.
Published (2009-11-29 15:19:00)
I agree. I think it's a personal decision. I chose not to get it, simply because of the lack of research. My doctor mentioned it to me that I should get the vax when it came in, but has never said anything about it again. My family, thank goodness, hasn't really said anything about getting it either. I just feel like there needs to be more research on what will happen to our LOs years down the road... Good luck with your decision...

I would have to say gift cards to a game store or even from Target or Walmart, they will always find something there to buy, and you can't go wrong with cold hard cash. Good luck.

I would say the gamestop card or just plain ol' money. I remember myself at that age, and money was always the coolest gift at Xmas cause you can just get yourself whatever you want. The gamestop card the PP mentioned is a great idea too. Even though it might be unoriginal, boys love video games. My DH just bought the new Call of Duty and its all he does, lol. Good luck with whatever you decide :)

oh i would of been in complete shock. i would of just said something along the lines to your DH with a get the?heck over here with our DS look?" come on?you guys its time to eat lunch" and hopefully he would get the hint to tell the lady that they had to go. The lady meant real well but come on! wow you have more patience than i do thats for sure!

Great idea. I should be doing those things...but probably won't. lol. We are usually pretty well stocked up on paper towels, TP and of course paper plates. Plus my husband will be deployed around or very soon after the time the baby is born, it'll just be us girls in the house. I should probably stock the pantry incase I don't feel like taking a newborn in the winter to the store......

I have a friend with an 11 yr old and 13 yr old boy. She told me they're both starting to get into books. I'm not sure which ones though. If you go to Barnes Noble or Border's the sales reps will help you. That's what I'm getting her boys.

First 2 things that come to mind---- are you taking your prenatal vitamins and how is your iron level? Both of those can affect your energy/fatigue level dramatically. You can also try eating smaller meals on a more frequent basis to help keep your energy boosted. When was the last time that you had someone watch your little girl so you can take a nap? I hope you can get some rest soon!

I'm interested to see what she says, as DD has had eczema since she was a few weeks old as well. The good news is now that she is almost 4 it has almost completely gone away! It was pretty severe at times too, she has scarring from it. We too, used the steriod creme when it got bad even though I hated using it. Over time, I found soaps that didn't irritate it as much and even went as far as ...

I too was on the fence about the vax for me or my son. But when it became available here in the county, I guess something just made me get it. So I did get it last month, as well as my 3 year old. I would never tell anyone they should or shouldnt get a vaccine. Thats totally a personal choice. But for me I ...

*raises hand* oh ya lol. I have always snored but it's not an everyday occurance. But it's become a lot more frequent since I got pregnant. Rob says it's really quiet and more like I am purring lol! He doesn't tease me but he is wise not to since he snores loud enough I'm sure he wakes the neighbors, no joke lol. Both he and my dad can be heard throughout the house when they snore, so none of ...

Yesterday I waited for 45 minutes in the lobby and then 15 minutes in the room after being called back. This however is not the norm. It was his delivery rotation yesterday so I am sure that had something to do with it. Most of the time I wait about 20 minutes total and am out of there within 30 minutes of my scheduled appointment time!

Mine still do, they are 6 and 3, but my 6 year old is more like 21, lol. He's super inquisitive and he's starting to teeter on the fence I think. Some of the little kids he goes to school with have told him he wasn't real, which really ticks me off. Anyway, for now, he still believes. I like your explanation to your kids. It's awesome :) I can't remember the exact age I found out Santa ...

You just wrote my exact complaints, lol. Last night was horrible. I was up half the night. I have a cold too, which totally isn't helping. I had that burning nasal thing going on, plus a horrible sore throat all night. I'm so tired right now, but I just said the heck with it, and climbed out of bed when I saw it was light out. I can't wait to be able to sleep and actually comfortably again...

Girl, screw etiquette. That's your son she's all over!
Honestly, I would have walked up to her and said, "Excuse me, do you know my son?" and when she said no, then just calmly explain to her that the only people allowed to interact in such a way with your child are people that you know, and know well. If she gets snotty with you, simply explain that you understand she means well but you ...
