She is lucky she murdered someone in Europe. It means she won't be murdered by the state with people gripped by bloodlust gawping at her in her death throes. In Europe we are more civilised than that. It also means that if new evidence should become available and she be found to be innocent in the future she would still alive to be freed. All in all 2 -0 to Europe. PS If Usans insist on murdering people in Europe they will be tried and...

One thing I noticed was that they refused a Captain's Mast, and that the defense is making a lot of noise about how much damage a court-martial could potentially do to them. Would I be unduly cynical in wondering if the case against them is strong enough that they knew a Captain's Mast proceeding would nail them, so they upped the ante to a court-martial to put the case more in the public spotlight and give them an opportunity to use...

I was going to start a thread on this too. It saddens me. I'm a New Yorker too, and I wanted legal gay marriage pretty badly. (Make Niagara the honeymoon capital again!)
New York isn't as liberal as it seems. Upstate is much, much further right than NYC. Believe me.

Muslims built a Mosque here in AtlantaGa on 14th street. Spires, minerets with gold plated domes. It looks like something out of Arabian nights but since my city has so much out of place architecture the Mosque oddly fits. A Hindu Temple is also going up.
I'm moving to the suburbs.

First, there has been no robot-like march. It's been a tremendous struggle to get climate change action on the table, and it's still uncertain whether it will get off the table anytime soon.
Second, there is no profit motive behind climate change. Big ...

"Climategate" has been a hot topic on the Canadian Nuclear Society mailing list. Opinion amongst the CNS has been trending anti-AGW.
Which is ironic that as pro-nukers, AGW becomes a huge selling point for us. In addition to all its other advantages, nuclear power is carbon free.

It gets really simple, if I'm not mistaken: If it's marked as a service dog, you make the accommodation. ADA requires a reasonable accommodation be made. A clearly marked service dog is reasonable.
