Hi Glenmire! Since you haven't had any responses yet, I thought I'd mention the site that I help to operate. It's called MyClassPro.com and it was designed specifically for group fitness trainers. Not only can you post a class schedule calendar on your website, but you can accept payments online, offer virtual Class Passes, and subscriptions. For your situation, a client could pay online for the class they want to attend and the...

Hello out there! I'm looking to get my NASM-PES (performance enhancement specialist) certification (I currently have my NASM-CPT). I came across a website for a sports performance complex that offers an internship. I'm assuming it's a great way to get hands-on training for this particular certification. I'm curious: 1) Have any of you done any internships to get ready for a PES certification? If so, was it paid or unpaid?...

Cost for Program Design
Published (2010-03-15 06:58:00)
I charge $35/session (small town), but I also offer online programs where I design programs based on the clients goals. $400/6 months or $200/3 months. They check in with me when they do their workouts and give me feedback that way. If they are in the same area and want a session, I'd probably do that occasionally free of charge and consider it included as long as it wasn't frequent. You could also give a discounted rate if they...

If you have a degree, I would suggest getting the CSCS instead. It carries more respect in the field. Plus, it's hundreds cheaper. NASM is a decent organization, but they sure do love milking their people for money. I'm not sure how they reconcile a PDF file and an online test you take from home being worth $600+.

I have a new client who is a motivated exerciser--she wants to have me write her a program and meet a couple of times a month. I was thinking about this model anyway, but I haven't come up with a price structure for it. Anyone do this kind of training?

Hi everyone, I'm working on my first bootcamp but have no back ground in them, and was hoping to get some input from more experienced individuals. Anyone with any ideas or suggestions on how to modify/improve the program, please throw up a comment. I'll take any advice I can get; the current routine has plenty of room for improvement. Current program: Ran in three circuits. Total workout ...

Hi all, We (ElevationFit.com) make Web (and mobile) based software for trainers. Hopefully in June we will be live, but in the meantime it's free for people who want to be beta testers (and if you provide feedback, heck, we'll even give you a credit so you can use it until the end of the year for free). Blog posting that explains a bit more: http://blog.elevationfit.com/2010/03...

Does anyone remember their computer CSCS questions? Looking for detailed examples, if possible and not just read the questions in the book. Thanks so much!

I've been NSCA-CPT certified since 2005 and have often thought about the CSCS credential. I had always vaguely knew that there was some kind of bachelor's degree requirement to register for the exam, but after reading about it on the website, I'm pretty disillusioned. See, I'm just about to graduate with an AS as a Physical Therapist Assistant and should soon be licensed. NSCA require a ...

Hi everyone, I told my neighbor that I was starting to do some personal training and asked if she knew anyone that was interested. She told me that she was actually interested in doing kickboxing and would like her son to join too. I said okay. We've had a couple of sessions but I don't think it's working out too well. Her son is 9 years old and she is mid-thirties. There is quite a ...
