Hi Mikey: So, there exists an installation of SBS 2003, but the hardware is getting flakey and you want to install SBS 200x on new hardware? Is that correct? As you have indecated you can order new SBS and downgrade, and as others have said there is no issue installing SBS 2003 on 64 bit hardware. Unless the existing SBS is OEM, you can simply install it on the new hardware....

Regardless of single or dual nic SBS setups, leave the SBS as the DHCP server. If the SBS is off line for more that a short while, you can initiate the DHCP on any capable device until you restore the SBS. Go to the POP connection manager troubleshooting tab and turn up logging to maximum. You should then see info in the app log about the connection and messages. It will also show you about mail in the failed mail folder. On the other hand using POP will probably cause you continuing problems as it was designed to be an interim solution until you can setup SMTP for incoming mail. ...
