A Prius owner touched her cruise control's resume function, then her car accelerated out of control. She had her foot on the brakes, but the brakes heated up and caught fire. This was like the situation in which the California Highway Patrol officer and family of four were killed. I'd say watch the throttle-by-wire and cruise control. German cars cut throttle when brakes are pressed. Every other manufacturer should do the same....

An online tech manual says that the Avalon brakes can be bled using a normal bleed procedure of RR, LR, RF, LF. I be using either gravity bleed or a hose w/check valve. The manual does not give info if I still get a soft pedal is there a way to bleed the ABS actuator? I did the first bleed on the RR and found the bleeder screws are leaking around the threads when I open them about 1/8 to 1/4. Can grease be applied at the threads to seal...

I was wondering if there was any reason I cannot use the standard green coolant in a 2000 Toyota Camry. The coolant in the car now is red. However it is not available at auto parts stores. Can I use Dex Cool (orange coolant) in place of what is currently in the car? I'd like to know how the red coolant is different from either the green coolant or the orange (Dex Cool) coolant.
