I notice a gaggle of cola goobs (Linonut, Phil Da Lick, Spamowitz, Matt) has been clucking and scratching around the place where bbgruff left his latest cola droppings. In those smelly droppings is the claim that Linux represented 7.5% of the net new users from one month to the next, and that means Linux usage share for the month was 7.5%. Apparently, Linux really does make you...

As per my other post, I have solved some of the problems I was having. 1. Applications disappearing when switching desktops. This is a weird one. The application is just gone, poof, gone. What ever happened to that guy? He was blowing a gasket and then he just disappeared. Do you think his brain exploded?

Can anyone point me to a list of laptops that come with Linux preinstalled? I see Dell has some at very low prices but based on their desktops I tend not to trust that vendor. This is for my spouse who wants to use it via a wifi conection. I already have my Linksys router up and running on my desktop box. John Culleton

<quote> Sep 2 2008 1:55PM EDT In an effort to spread personal computer usage throughout Brazil, the government has for years subsidized the purchase of PCs with low-interest loans -- as long as the computers are preinstalled with Linux. But in a CNET article taking a look at the obstacles hindering the growth of the technology market in Brazil, reporter Ina Fried suggests ...

I ordered a Lenovo Linux laptop on 8/3/2008. Yesterday I was informed that it will not ship till the end of September,. It is apparent to me that they knew on 8/3 that they could not ship in the forseeable future. They are also discontinueing their support of Linux on their Thinkpad T series, and lessening their offerings overall for the USA. You can scratch Lenovo off the list...
