I would think that anyone can use the same exercises for quite a while with the 90% rule or staying conservative. I've kept standing OHP's up through 225 lbs w/out really trying. Obviously other exercises run into problems. I'd recommend trying to reset a few times before rotating them out vs. doing different exercises every runthrough. One thing I've done well with in regards to the 5/3/1 is to run a variation for a few...

Do the best that you can but really you probably have to guess without maxing. Not the end of the world. Just be conservative in your assumptions.

That is possibly the second most popular split on the internet after Chest/Biceps-Back/Triceps-Legs/Shoulders. Tried something like that years ago, didn't work too well for me. I guess there's other factors to consider, like set/rep scheme, exercise selection and ratio of said exercises.

I like how the tris are only hit directly on one upper day, as well as rows on the lower, instead of doing them on both days with different exercises, like in the WSB standard template. I also think not doing singles for a while will benefit me as well, working with triples and 5's. Should anything be changed to make it a more strength sided routine? My primary goal is powerlifting, not mass. Goona give it a try regardless.

I have seen this posted alot of different places, seems like a pretty common split. Anybody had any luck with it? Opinions? Sorry, that was short and pretty broad, but you get what I am asking.

Looks good! Something this simple could even work for an intermediate or
advanced from a break from a higher volume bb'ing type routine. Some
serious weights could be thrown around for an advanced trainee to do this
routine. Looks good XX!

Beautiful in it's simplicity. Thanks for sharing.
In your 3 day 5x5 template, I would assume you drop the Sunday workout and re-locate or drop dips and/or military press?

Treat every loading phase seperately. You have no way of knowing what you can do after a week's rest. Do too much too fast and you'll likely burn out too quickly. I always keep records in a safe place. Coming off a deload, I aim for decent weights (nothing close to a PR) and go not to failure. In every case, within a few short weeks, I've already beat my PR.

At age 16 you are first just growing into your body. I would spend time working plyometric, jump rope alot and working your flexibility. For the other things: 5/3/1 routine...get strong.

**go to the BMF sports forums...there are some lower volume sheiko-like programs that dave bates has released. most have been tested and work, but you have to try it for yourself.
There is a beginner version and then another lower volume version which was just posted.
