palin is from a small town environment. so everyone knows everyone else's business. to think that anyone can run for office without detractors is folly. actually, only about 14% of her state don't approve of her, and only a small part of them are vocal dissenters. I agree, compulsory public service - much like the work of volunteers we see in every community, the "community organizers" we heard so much about this week, who demonstrate people are to work for the betterment of all when they believe in the cause. What is missing is a LEADER who can motivate this country and encourage us to put our patriotism into action - not just with magnetic ribbons...
