Published (2009-12-03 07:58:39)
Bank of America to repay TARP By Joe Rauch Joe Rauch Wed Dec 2, 7:45 pm ET NEW YORK (Reuters) – Bank of America Corp (BAC.N) said it would repay $45 billion of taxpayer bailout funds, a move that could free the top U.S. lender from pay curbs as it looks to hire a new CEO but also makes it more vulnerable to further economic shocks. Read WMI's consolidated fiancial statement for 2005. 2006 and 2007. This was filed with the SEC on Feb 28 2009. This is what JD was probably analyzing when he bid $8 PPS in March. it clearly shows near the bottom the cash in WMBfsb and the 4.4 bil in cash in WMB. If you can't see this then you are blind, this statement was filed with the SEC, so I doubt if it is FRAUDULENT as you say! WMI should win the SJ and be paid seperately for...

$4B isn't even close to enough cash to absorb the HUGE LOSSES that WMI's execs were "underestimating".

That is unless they have already proved it in court and they get their SJ. That is a very likely outcome, as the judge did not turn down the request. She could have turned it down with no reason given at the time of the oral arguments.
