Wcamom, Nothing about Floating LNG in that article. Otherwise just a repeat of what is already in the official public record. Except this; Drilling of the Malanza 1X well is estimated to take approximately five weeks, although the actual timing is dependent on many factors, such as drilling penetration rate, fluids encountered, borehole stability and equipment maintenance, among others. Malanza was spudded on the morning of the...

Regardless of the composition of the findings, we can draw the conclusion from several posters, who're privy to excellent sources, that the findings will be commercially viable. I, for one, feel that we will be rewarded handsomely by the end of the fist quarter next year.

It's that verbiage that has me confused by ERHC not commenting on STP's plan to open the auction in Q1 2010. Are they asleep or hard at work? Many billions of dollars hang in the balance, yet we hear nothing. Sigh.

Pup....a much appreciated post. Its good to get some facts on the drilling campaign. It appears you, too, are in the camp that the Deepwater Pathfinder will not be drilling its scheduled 4'th well. Seems DK at some point will be doing a 180 turnaround and notifying co shareholders of same. Its a shame we have to learn it here, on the public message board, first. The PR via Addax is pretty clear of the rigs contract: "The contract...

babble, it's not as though they just stopped drilling. They did set casings
at intermediate depths at Kina 1 and Lemba and apparently now at Malanza.
It shows they could return for further drilling though I am not an oil
expert.

Then ERHC has basically the choice between breaking the rules of the SEC
(material event) and breaking the rules of the LCIA! (LOL) Material Events
Whenever a "material" event occurs, the company must file a Form 8-K
describing the event and its possible effect on the company's business. By
the very nature, 8-K reports have no schedule. A material event includes
such things as bankruptcy, a ...

So in what way exactly are you seeing this as a significant piece of

The Rigzone article also... "explicitly states" that the DP is working for
KNOC and Addax. Kinda makes it hard to a lot of faith in it.

Addax Petroleum, operator of JDZ Block 4, in which ERHC holds a 19.5
percent interest, announced earlier this week that it also expects to begin
exploratory drilling in August. Addax has arranged to take possession of
the Deepwater Pathfinder in the weeks to come and begin a four-well
drilling campaign starting with the Kina Prospect.

Wouldn't it confirm that the JDZ has oil and further investment is needed
to prove it all up? I'm all for a buyout and put htis pig to rest, however
that would definitely be an acceptable alternative for this Cowboy. We'll
see I guess. Excellent DD guys!

I would have thought the drilling crew operated the drilling operations and
thus would have the experience to drill 2 miles down. I just can't see them
giving control of their drilling rig and crew to the group for whom the
drilling is being done. As I have no knowledge of how a rig operates, am I
wrong in thinking who actually runs the drilling operations? I also would
have thought the extensive...

Very logical post based on the drilling times. OBO 62 days....and 2,3 and 4
about 28 days. This would definately give them a looksee.....and that may
be what was/is needed to bring in a "capabale of development" oil company.
Right now Chevron is the only co involved in the JDZ that meets that
criterion. They just need to accumulate some interest in 2,3 and 4. I
sincerely hope Kobiashi is ...
