Hey Market, I don't mean to add to the doom-and-gloom, but some Harvard economists recently stated that there will be no let-up in the housing decline for another year. With one and one-half million homes already in foreclosure and estimates that we will double that in the next year--some are predicting the number will go to five million; there are three million now behind in their ...

RBlatch, Thanks for the feedback. I've been hating seeing that position dwindle more and more each day. So I sold 25% today. They're December 2009 calls with a strike of $95. The problem is that I now foresee a multi-year bear market with SPY bottoming in the $70's 2-5 years from now. The US economy is in the worst shape ever and the perfect storm just keeps intensifying. For ...

OT:That's a tough one if you are looking at it from the perspective of trying to make your money back now. However, if you are looking at it from the perspective of simply "preserving cash", sell it and don't look back. Having "some" cash to play again and possibly make your money back is better than having no cash and being out of the game. That's the harsh reality of it. I...

OT: I got caught going long SPY at 144 two months ago. It has fallen to 126 since then, with the likelihood of going below 100 in the next nine months. I want to dump it before I lose more, but I just know that the instant I do that there will be a severe ten point rally (even if it is short-lived) What to do? MF4

scstocks do you consider titan a vehicle for the investment strategy you follow with cor? Bascially, if a distressed biotech has any IP at all, can you make money buying at the bottom? Do you pursue this strategy across the sector, or do you primarily focus on cor because of the quality of its IP? Many thanks to any feedback you'd care to provide.

<<check out the improvement in money flow...CMF....BULLISH A/D and OBV....call it what you want but it's favorable...right tregaron?>> Yes, money flow and other indicators look positive, however, as I noted in an earlier post, I think we're going to struggle a bit getting through .90.

Can you image the story we could tell if COR went to $65 from .65 in four years? Talk about Vegas party!

OT - Atlas Shrugged was adapted for the screen by the writer of Braveheart, Randall Wallace, for Angelina Jolie. Apparently, they are having a hard time finding a director who can do it justice. Just FYI.

GFP, I have close friends in the business community in Europe and they definitely have some strong opinions about US economics and our current predicament. What they often overlook is the amount of capital that still resides in this country - much of it in the hands of pure capitalists. That money will be put to work and eventually gain traction in this economy. It's largely a function of ...

Scstocks, Wow, thanks. That's great. I was wondering what happened to all the ads and pop ups. That was very generous of you. Hopefully I can earn my keep around here, though I'm probably still most useful as a contrarian/reverse indicator. When I go into my 'to the moon / excitable boy' routine again, you'll all know it's time to unload :o)

Asuhowe: We had our differences at times in the past, but my impression had been that everybody had settled down, and there's been a reasonable exchange of views. But recently, in this increasingly ridiculous p---- contest masquerading as a discussion of TA, you've been the one displaying the more exacerbated case of testosterone toxicity. This post of yours was completely unnecessary and ...

Jerry - I'm not quite clear on what you meant by wanting to see the trials confirm the animal studies. The animal results were pretty amazing, if the human trials replicate that, COR is golden. Did you mean that you are only concerned that the trials at least show proof of concept?

trading in penny stocks originating from distressed companies has another component: if you buy low, catch the bounce, and then the company folds, it is apparently difficult/impossible for the IRS to identify exactly when the trades were made, so you can choose the buy and sell price advantageously. I don't have the money or the interest to play these kinds of games, but based on my source (a...

Tregaron, If only the guy that constantly posts TA on this board would have explained things in such a constructive and professional manner, the TA debate would have ended in 2 posts. Have a good one.

OT SORT OF: In the mid 1990's I took a big interest in energy. I learned about refiners, refining, rig counts the various energy supply releases such as API statistics. I ran in my area of the city in which I live and saw more and more horsepower in each driveway. I saw more SUV's, the biggest of the big as a right of passage when anyone I knew got a promotion. I grew up in the 70's and can ...

Jerry, GM has now lost over 70% of its value since last Fall. Will there even be a US auto industry in 5 years? How long can the airlines survive with jet fuel at these levels? How about the trucking companies? If the US attacks Iran in the next 6 months as expected, estimates are for oil to hit $250.

I want the RD-1 and RD-2 results to confirm animal studies-that is as far as I go, I have been bearish on the rest of it and think there will be interesting ideas in blue chips when things settle out-I wouldn't bother to guess when that is. I am going to ride my bike home( no fossil fuels) and be happy Cortex went up today. NBA draft tonight, great to see the smiles on the young men who hit the ...

I just spent the last ten minutes reading 40 posts about the pros/cons of TA. This was a total waste of my time. Can I have my ten minutes back please? Thank you, MF4

My sense is that a hell of a lot of people are sitting on cash now, looking for someplace to put at least some of it, so I think that cor may do better than it would have with the same news in a less bearish market. Cor's major liability is a lack of funds, but a partnership deal should put that to rest.
