Thanks to all for the SUGGestions but I was unable to remove it. I have been told that this nasty trojan most likely comes in via emails vs visiting websites and that anti virus software such as free AVG would not pick this up. The tech person that I spoke with told me that he removed this particular trojan from 2 machines yesterday - and it is real aggressive. He mentioned something about going to the registry to remove it - which of course...
Sounds like the virus is Stopping you from obtaining a fix. Try everything you have already done after rebooting into Safe Mode with network connections.
Churak, it's none of my business but about a year ago I fell for the scam and paid the 99.95 or whatever it was to download their software to get rid of the virus. I copied the receipt which had callback numbers for refunds. The message is short and rude but you have to enter your last 4 numbers of CC again.:-( I feel very lucky on this one, the money was back in my account in less than a week. Just a little self experience.
