Good things always seem to happen here when the bonds get jiggy. It still comes back to who wants to own these bonds (control the company)? My guess is it's those who have the most to lose in the equity side of things.

Thank you very much MC for your response, much obliged. I was looking for some clarity on the matter and you provided it. Thank you for your efforts. I am still holding "some" shares, and will continue to do so until something concrete tells me to do otherwise. By the way didn't you have a new addition to your family awhile back. I hope that is going well. Good luck to you sir.

Definitely not !

Definitely not ! Sometimes it takes numerous attemppts, I believe they tried three or four times in Pilgrims. And if the Trustee still denies all those times, a motion can always be put directly to the Judge and court. That is considered almost the last line. Also, a denial of an EC does not mean there will be no equity upon emergence, it is just a 'tool' to help ensure it.

Seriously now. Have any of you ever listened to the pharm. commercials and wondered who in their right mind would take what they're advertising?..... death is almost always on the list -- and they say it reallllllly fast. It's a joke in my family that even my kids laugh about.

Akin and Gump will have a large plate of crow before this is over. They will not get away with riding ruffshod over the equity holders and trying to write off this multi-billion dollar company as having shot its wad.The truth is gonna eventually shut their mouths and its the truth in post#48486 that spurred them. That was an unprofessional attempt to discredit Wall in the eyes of Judge Gerber. It may backfire cause Gerber is a reasonable man and...

After reading K+E's response, I am getting a weird gut feeling telling me that the formation of an EC is now closer than ever. I can imagine that the UST has her own wealth of stories to tell about them lawyer folks and knows their game just too well. This recent response with all the contradictions it contains comes in very handy to show them their place by doing exactly what they don't want. All just my opinion of course.

Possibly to cover their @ss in case an asset sale doesn't get done
(although i sense K&E will tout their "no recovery for equity" line even
with a sale). I will say this though....considering all the lawyers
Chemtura has retained, if an asset sale does not get done, the
financial irresponsibility that helped get the company into this mess will
not have changed one bit. Still, I do believe ...

One of the points made: According to K&E, it is the depreciation of the
dollar on the global market that is THE PRIMARY reason for the positive
book value/shareholder equity at the moment w/ regard to chemtura's foreign
subsidiaries, and that this isn't a true reflection of chemtura's
value...Hence no reason for EC according to K&E... Essentially she is
making the argument that the increase in ...

Even if Rogerson is in the position of doing what he has to do as a
CEO...meaning bye-bye commons if necessary... Thoughts to consider... We
must remind ourselves that Peltz and Trian have a substantial stake
here...Will Peltz let Rogerson cancel out his investment in this company
that he made prior to bankruptcy @ $100+ million? Is SVP ready to just let
their investment go bye-bye? What is ...

The other thing I'll let everyone know is that in every official
correspondence with any entity that either MC, WS , or I submit , it is
done with the utmost professionalism and respect. And those correspondences
are fairly numerous. In return, we have seen, and it is pretty common, to
be see cheap shots taken at equity or equity holders in official filings
and correspondences by both Kirkland& ...

The letter by Daniel H. Golden at Akin & Gump indicated that the Ad
Hoc Shareholders (eight members) hold approximately 19.3% of the
outstanding shares of Chemtura Corporation’s common stock, which are
about 47 million shares. We, the Alliance, are holding about 33
million shares, while the group (ICC/Trian/Pacific) is holding about
35 million shares. If these shares are ...

Perhaps legal council is ENVIOUS of the fact that you stand to make MORE
money from shrewdly investing in Chemtura while under the "clouded
conditions of Chapter 11 Restructuring than they'll individually make by
providing their professional expertise??? After all, every attorney I know
didn't choose their profession purely for altruistic purpose... although I
have met quite a few that had left ...

$200 per hour for a clerk, $300 per hour for associates that aren't
admitted to the bar, and $700 per hour for partners each charging time to
talk to each other and colleagues. Now that is what I call a dissipative
racket. I wonder how much they will bill to read this message board? Seems
like this needs some regulation and there is none other than the objections
made the court by the EC or as ...
