Whether I was bashing Obama or not depends on your perspective.  I'm sure that the people who have benefited from these policy changes would think that I have complimented Obama.  So if you take it as a bash I guess you're not happy with his policies.  Personally I have no problem with his change in policy concerning medical marijuana.   But the connection to pot farming is this.  About...

Hey Super,   re:   "... I've no idea what the heck you're talking about ..."   Come on, super, don't play dumb with me... I know you're a Stanford graduate and was a Ford whiz kid, just like Robert McNamara...   A (vertical) bull spread involves buying calls on a stock at one strike price, and selling an equal number of calls on the same stock at a higher price.  In my...

Good Stuff, Byron.    I wish you and everyone else here a Happy New Year as well.   May you remember to say "I love you" at least once a day to your spouse, your child, your parent, your siblings; but not to your secretary, your nurse, your masseuse, your hairdresser or your tennis instructor.   Chant for Samhain A year of beauty. A year of plenty. A year of planting. A year of harvest. A year of...

I am refining my list as following in that order with today's action: STEC, SWC, CREE, AAPL, HXL 1)STEC as a paradigm shift to SSDs in the enterprise ( sooner or later ) 2)SWC - a move to ETF on PGMs coming to the market ( if not actual auto demand ) 3)CREE as a clean energy and LED push to save energy 4)HXL as a clean energy and aero play in place of our good old TIE 5)AAPL as a tech leader eating into PC market and more. I believe STEC...

January 4th at close, following monthly update.  Was going to purchase more RICK but it never got to my buy point.  Added to CDE and bought back into ARAY.  Talked with North America sales guy for NS and they are expecting the stimulus to hit big in 2010 for the asphalt division. Also added more SWHC.   Questions and comments welcomed as I continue to learn from everyone here.  Thanks.  ...

I was just saying XODG has a good potential ....good for at least a double this year IMHO.....how that evolved into Obama bashing and growing pot is beyond me.....but.....since you opened the door. The bottom line is we have become a failed state ....not only  as a result of the presidents and the last one was a real doozy, but because of the failure of congress. It was designed to be the peoples house and that has not been the case...

"One of the things I've learned, having sat on a big gain ever since mid April, is that holding an in-the-money bull spread is a lot less volatile than holding straight long calls.  When the positive clinical trial results were first announced April 14, the spread immediately jumped to the 4.5 area, but then while the stock traded in the 22 to 30 range for the rest of 2009 (after formal announcement of trial results April...

Can't help but post some jokes for some loyal MB friends (attn Irish, Super, Dawg, Pacview, NP, Owlinkfan, Michelle and everybody): The last joke(s) you will hear for 2009 is from me. Only a day or two to push out the tiring year, and breath a sigh of relief for it will not pass our way again. Hope your 2009 gambling has been successful (isn't the stock market a huge Barona Indian Casino, Irish?) I wish you all a Happy, Prosperous,...

Market-wise, 2009 was better than 2008. 2010 is expected to be better than 2009. My only regret for 2009 is that I was too cautious in the first half. But under the circumstances, I saw no other choice.
