Recs: 0 Re: The Drop In Commodities and Commodity Stocks Is Part Of The Bank Bailout My question to you and others is why this lead to sell-offs mostly in commodities stocks? Are hedge funds still overweight these sectors? I thought they would be out now. We used to say hedge funds sell what they can and sell their winners. But energy/materials are not winners...

Recs: 0 The Drop In Commodities and Commodity Stocks Is Part Of The Bank Bailout http://www.netcastdaily.com/broadcast/fsn2008-1011 -3a.mp3 The last hour sell off every day is due to hedge fund margin calls wherein they sell stocks indiscriminantly to meet liquidity strictures. This process has destroyed share values and made a mockery of fundamentals.

Recs: 1 Chinese miners If Canadian ones are suffering, imagine the pain in China. There has been no help from fx rates at all (Canada has had 20% cost reduction). Recs: 1 Re: All the pumping and all the bashing turns out to mean nothing ...lol Note to myself; self, "take profits next time." Interesting you say that. One thing I noticed over the past year and half is that when we are in a bull-phase, anyone having the audacity to sell a position, or heaven forbid, day-trade, were always met with critisism almost ...

Recs: 0 All the pumping and all the bashing turns out to mean nothing ...lol The only thing that really matters is the wold's financial system and economy. Base metals are but a leaf blowing in the wind of world turmoil. The question is; how bad will it get and when will the next leg up begin? If we have deep protracted world recession, it's probably better to be in non-...

Recs: 0 Re: Some thoughts on the base metals commodity cycle Overall supply/demand is always about equilibrium so it doesn't take much to tip the scales; few percents could be quite enough. Please, note that Chinese would be only happy to buy commodities at lower prices and their command economy always tried to manipulate prices lower. P/E historical disparities usually ...
