even gld investors are allowed to take a profit huh? The stock price has come a long way in a short period of time and once the gold price started dropping like a rock many headed for the exits.. The most encouraging surprise being the many new investors and the buy on the dips gld holders absorbed the brunt of the sell off. A 49k oz move out of the gld depot on a $47 per oz gold smash is heartening... From past observations more gold can be...

Are there bank failures such as these elsewhere in the world, or only in the U.S.? One would think this is also going on in the U.K. But no mention of this if it is also happening there. Only in the US AFAIK ! I think it's because we have fewer "small" banks here in Europe ! msg 35262

Spoke with a few folks today about gold and they all (3 of them) said they were glad they did not get caught up in the gold bubble now that gold has topped out. They asked if I had lost a lot of money yesterday. I just listened in wonderment to (IMHO) very smart people with no clue. Clearly 98% of the investing public are either brainwashed against gold or have no opinion at all. I figure either the economy reflates and inflation and USD...

"...I think Bunning has a scent and is following it but it is a red herring. The bailouts and the executive pay are not the issues. the issues are who the hell is in charge of the Govt." When Bunning said, at the end of his tirade, "Perhaps the Fed really is...The Creature From Jekyll Island", I would say he was not chasing red herrings msg 35095
