Recs: 0 BBC IPlayer Can I use BBC iPlayer outside the UK? Rights agreements mean that BBC iPlayer television programmes are only available to users to download or stream (Click to Play) in the UK . However, BBC Worldwide is working on an international version, which we will make available as soon as possible. Most radio programmes are available...

Recs: 0 Re: BBC faces criticism on iPlayer hosting change (SOC) That's all fine and dandy, toes, but up until today, with rare exception, that hasn't been what shareholders have been able to look forward to, unfortunately. Even this BBC leak, rumor, blog tell tale, or whatever else it ends up becoming, has the same smell of some "Big Deal," with an after effect ...

Recs: 2 Re: BBC faces criticism on iPlayer hosting change (SOC) I'd say it like this: while it is surely more immediately satisfying emotionally to get PRs all the time, the only thing that matters in the end is the revenue they book. So I really don't care if they never issue another contract PR for the rest of the year - let alone one with detailed numbers - so long as...

Recs: 2 Re: News Reporting On CDNs Getting Shoddy: Streamingmedia So I was right to be a bit cautious, eh? Still a nice win for Level 3, these things add up and Level 3 is making progress here that will show up in growth one way or another. Anyhow, I find the bbc/iplayer/level3/akam situation fascinating, so here's another bit on it: http://www....

Recs: 1 Re: Level 3 Augments Quoting Tools I also find this very positive. In effect, they are exposing part of Unity to the outside world. They wouldn't do that if it weren't ready. But I suspect they are still populating the network inventory from some of the acquisitions. toes thread start

Recs: 5 News Reporting On CDNs Getting Shoddy: Streamingmedia Yes, the BBC has signed up with Level 3 for a new trial using H.264. But as Anthony says on his blog, "we're going to create our content in both On2 VP6 and H.264 format". So this is new business that Level 3 is getting and not the business that Akamai still has with the BBC. How did so many bloggers get this ...
