Recs: 0 Re: CRB-SALE I almost wish now it would be held up, latest advice was for early '09, keep the joint company with both oil and gas cash flow sources until markets settle down, don't for now see how it will add much value to either company as things stand by going ahead. In the meantime do a CHK, start to turn off the marginal gas spigots going into winter try to ...

Recs: 0 Re: I made a few misstatements Margin, I guess mgt could not have expected anything like this bank induced downturn, with apart from the housing lending crisis some banks being allowed to leverage out 40-50 times. crazy. I was wondering if ECA might have been buying in the low 60's, but imo think for now they'd be better to sit this out, just hoard whatever cash ...

Recs: 0 I made a few misstatements 1. I meant to write Andy's Mesa, not Frenchies Draw, when I was talking about the potential sale of ECA's Paradox basin assets. Just slipped up. There is a section on the ECA website under "Doing business with us" that lists all the farmouts that are available. Earlier the paradox basin assets were listed as the only available farmout ...

Recs: 0 Re: Mark to market It was mentioned as still an option depending on circumstances at the last cc. Last reported purchases were at the $74 level, should it not be an attractive option then if they find they can buy at $55? Mind you if this goes on they could just as well wait until $40! But imo believe they may need to do something with this split coming up to put a...

Includes frenchies draw field and some othe rstuff including processing plants and pipelines> Frenchy Draw is in the Wind River Basin. Its had an exception ramp-up in production but appears to be tipping over recently. Is it for sale? Or are you thinking of Andy's Mesa Field in the ...

Recs: 0 Re: Mark to market Thanks. Well, we'll find out soon enough when the Q3 results are out in 2-3 weeks. Chesapeake by 9/08 had 83% of 2008 NG hedged 72% of 2009 and 46% of 2010 at an average price of abt $9.50. XTO hedged 50% 2009 at $11.97. Also hope ECA's upped the stock buybacks at these current levels and is hoarding cash by dumping drilling. thread start...

Recs: 1 Re: Mark to market RE: hedges, A/O 6/30. ECA has sold 391 MMcf/d at an avg NYMEX px of $9.85 and purchased put options at on 341 MMcf/d at an avg strike of $8.85 per mcf. The early part of July was a period of super high pxs, hope they sold A LOT more!! The total reported as of 6/30 is approx 19% of projected production, of 3.85 Bcf/d, for the remainder of 2008. {...

Recs: 0 Re: Mark to market << Seems like a very odd way to do it. >> Yes it does. Professional investors generally disregard "mark-to-market" gains/losses and go with the actual numbers. What they care about is not GAAP earnings, but CFFO. thread start

Recs: 0 Somewhat surprising... There's no PR as yet nor mention on ECA's website of their CRB leases disposal/sale to Delta, and the terms of same. Might ECA themselves be the major Canadian oil company mentioned by Delta as their jv partner, if they happened to view Delta's acreage as having superior potential to theirs, and/or in view of their other activities they were ...

Recs: 0 Re: Somewhat surprising... Mark fo market fo ECA will be a POSITIVE this quarter based on NG price at close today, They will have non-cash profits from resetting the hedges for the rest of the year - ie they can book paper profits based on the difference between the prices they have booked to the end of their hedges and the closing price Sept 30. Funny thing is ...

Recs: 0 Re: Somewhat surprising... Hmmm, talking of mark to market makes me think about ECA's upcoming Q3 results. Quite right about the present White House incumbent and his cronies, both a domestic and an international disaster for the US, sooner they are turfed out the better. thread start
