The percentages look nice for Byetta vs. Januvia, but look at the absolute numbers for each. There are almost twice as many scrips for starting and renewing Januvia as for starting or renewing Byetta. It's just that there are so many more scrips already for Januvia than there are for Byetta, that the Byetta percentages are higher. msg 63028

You are correct, although I doubt it much based on the plurality of the clinical data... My main issue is that someone suggested that story to CNN? Why is that? And who is that? Why are the major news sources always publishing negative stories about AMLN.. Forbes, Ruters, CNN, etc... When you look at Januvia and other drugs, very little negative news is followed on by the big news outlets... It tends to be brushed under the rug or just...

Just wondering, how many of the type 2 diabetics at AMLN take Byetta and how many take inferior oral meds?  Especially in the sales ranks.  Since AMLN gives away everything else to employees, I suspect they can get byetta at no charge. msg 63037

I don't believe that bid has past it's peak, on the contrary I think monotherapy will push doctors to put their patients to Byetta mono now than give them some pills, and at the end will have to put them on Byetta anyway! I think docs are waiting also for L.A.R and so the transition will be smoother.   Launch will be efficiently made cause of Failure of the past, if you so want to call them, but mistakes can...

well, I am optimistic, as I do think of what might have been had there not been the cartridge shortage and overblown pancreatitis histeria, or even lack of stellar marketing, because I definitely saw the prescriptions; one just cannot extrapolate outward and assume that most of the fat people in say NYC will all use the drug....lol.  And also, I have seen scripts off label as mentioned before of byetta use with insulin and doses such...
