Yes, Donna they did. They changed my anti form Macrobid to Cipro after the culture came back last week. I feel about 10% better this morning than I did last night. Hopefully the improvement will continue and speed up.

I had hydro distention as well, and after that I was in pain SO bad for the rest of the day and night and some of the next day. I had to actually goback to the hospital and stay overnight because the percocets my uro gave me don't work for me. But after thos 2 days I felt complete relief from everything for 9 whole months. Just this past august the flares started coming back. And that's all it is - the constant twinge of "hi...

The ER has started demanding a $50 "copay" recently as well. I would have been there days ago otherwise...They didn't use to ask for it, but that changed after my insurance was extended through COBRA.

Thanks for the reply I think it happens often to people we assume it is a flare and it really is a UTI. MG

The more I feel this sensation (it's happened twice before in the past few months) does it sound like I pass stones?? Sometimes I get that back pain and abdominal stabbing but it's so hard to tell if that's actual kidney pain or IC? Idk.. Quote: Originally Posted by AngKat Hey everyone, Day 4 of this terrible flare. You have been through the mill.I sure hope the meds kick in and give you relief. I have only had one UTI since my diagnosis of IC and I thought it was a flare.I made an appointment for an emergency bladder instill but when they checked my Urine it was a massive infection. I was put on Macrobid 100 mg everynight at bedtime and also had Septra for 10 days. I haven't had another UTI since then.

If you have a doctor you see regularly, if you tell them you are broke right now, they should be able to help you. If not, I suggest you go to an emergency room. Donna

i have had that sensation before and sometimes its just the flare really hurting the urethra for whatever reason and i have had it where its an infection.... so make sure to get yourself checked out for stones and/or infection.... also try soda water.....there is schweppes club soda where its basically water and sodium bicarbonate and for whatever reason it helps my urethra to be soothed and also ice cold baths help too..... and painkillers...

When I am running a bladder infection, I feel a very painful "pinching" feeling at the beginning and ending of my urine stream.

Is there any way your doctor could just send you a bill? My doc doesn't even ask for a payment, I just get a bill in the mail. Maybe they would put you on a payment plan also?

Ever since I got IC my stream is slow and inconsistent and I tend to dribble after I think I am finished. I have this whether I'm flaring or not. If it bothers you ask your urologist. Keep The Faith Merry Christmas

Hello everyone, I haven't been on here in forever. I had been feeling better for a couple months...and then it hit me soo hard. I had decided to cook dinner for my boyfriend in our new apartment we just moved into. We had red wine & I had made tomato sauce for the pasta. The next day I felt like I was peeing pieces of glass. My vulvodynia is burning so bad too, even the most ...

I also wanted to say, when I am having an especially bad time, ANY pressure on my lower pelvic area is excruciating, like, even having my three year old sit in my lap is agony. I can press on my bladder area with my finger and make the feeling of pain go ten times higher.

Hi Anne, I just thought I would let you know that doxycycline flares me horribly!! I have tried it a few times and all with the same result--the worst flare ever! Levaquin is the one antibiotic I can take and know it won't flare me and actually helps the IC. Godd luck! Ginny
