Thanks, Jereme for your reply. I am not doing so good but I guess it might be due to taking antibiotics after I had to remove one tooth with roots and having infection going on. One more week to go with AB and they are really effecting me badly, specially with frequency and urgency. I have been on Cystoprotek almost 2 months soon, also taking AV now. I tried detrol but it has too heavy side effects for me, I think i tried like 4,5 various oab...

There are several other antispasmodics you might want to try. The one I usually take is hyoscyamine. Donna

Eat yogurt every day or take acidolphilus while you are on the antibiotic.

Hang in there. I know it is hard to believe, but most find treatments that help. chances are you will too. There are lots of treatment options you still have available to try. How long have you been on the cystoprotek? That is supposed to help coat the bladder. You could also try Lyrica or Neurontin to see if those medicines help calm the overactive nerves in the bladder. Detrol LA is an overactive bladder medicine that you didn't list. I...

Maybe ask your doctor about a muscle relaxant if the spasms are from the pelvic floor muscles. I take generic flexeril, white tablets (so no irritating dyes).

I am so sorry this happened to you. Of course you were upset. It can be very difficult to deal with people who are not understanding of what we go through day in and day out. Most people do not know anything about IC. I know I didn't until I was diagnosed. I hope you are able to continue some type of relationship with this woman. Hopefully, one day, she will understand.

You didn't mention diet --- are you following an IC diet? Also, there are many, many treatments for IC. Hopefully you will find the right one soon. Warm healing thoughts, Donna

Hi Bojana, When I first got IC, I felt a lot of what you're talking about. It took awhile to get my treatment plan together piece by piece, trying one medicine at a time. My treatment plan is very comprehensive, addressing multiple factors in the illness. You can see my treatments below my name in the signature line. Every one of them is essential to managing my IC - diet, oral medications,...

I don't think you said anything wrong, and I've been on antidepressants in the past for depression. I totally get what you are saying. It sounds like the dr. just didn't understand you, & if she knew about IC, then she should have known about Cystoprotek & all. I'm sorry your appt. was so disappointing. Teachers have a tough, demanding job. And you have several other health issues to go along ...

I think it would be great to see a book like that, or to read something on a personal level such as poetry in a medical magazine. IC'ers would relate, but probably anyone in pain from any illness would also relate to it. I wish you the best of luck in pursuing this. dawn

Mindee, you are not alone. We have all been dealt a disease that no one else would like to have. It is a nasty ,painful disease. My questions for you would be are you on the IC diet? If not it would be a good thing for you to try. You can find out which foods trigger your symptoms. It will probably take a few months to get it under control but you can do this. I keep a food, meds and symptoms ...

Tina, Sounds like things are difficult right now for sure, and you are doing what a loving mom does- putting your son first. But if you take care of yourself a bit, it might help you, which will also help your family. You are worth it!! I also did not follow the diet for many years, and now I am on it, and I've found it makes a huge difference! I felt a lot better after a short time. I know how...
