I would not open the capsule without checking with the doctor first. Since posting my questions a few years I was switched to
Hydroxyzine Pamoate (generic of Vistaril) 25 mgs at night. It makes a little sleepy and I only take it at night.

Anyone had success with Zyrtec? I have been taking it for the past week for my allergies and have noticed that my IC symptoms have calmed a bit... Not sure if the Zyrtec is relevant or not. I am seeing Dr. Evans, the IC Specialist here in NC on Monday and he may
prescribe something different, but just thought i would throw out this random question! Thanks!

To my ladies and gentlemen, Have any of you been on
Zyrtec? I know it isn't traditionally used, but since I've already been on it for years, my uro said that it wasn't worth messing with it and trying a different allergy med as I've had great indoor/outdoor relief with my Zyrtec. Not that I am opposed to this, just wondering what you all think

anyone have any luck with this? My husband is now taking it to get filled so I dont know much about it yet. I am curious to see if it will help, but will it make me sleepy? I already take Ambien and Elavil at night so I am finally getting sleep with those.

I know it sounds strange but I have been experiencing high levels of Anxiety on Atarax. At first I thought it was just stress but after stopping it for 3 days my anxiety is much better. I was taking 25mg at night and it was helping my bladder and it put me to sleep but about 2 weeks into it I started to have anxiety just in the daytime when the atarax was no longer in my system (only at night). ...

Has anyone noticed getting bloated after taking Atarax? I take
Xyzal at night for my allergies and during the day I have been taking 50mg. of Vistiril - usually 2x = 100mg. Could I be taking too much vistiril? Is that what is causing me to bloat so bad? The vistiril has really helped my bladder pain, but I feel like I've gone up a size in the past week that I've been taking it!...

I am a little confused reading these threads. I thought from something else I just read on another thread, that the antihystamines were for the
mast cells in the bladder that cause inflammation, and therefore bloating (or IC tummy anyhow) I don't want to add any medications unless I really understand what they are for -- however, my doctor suggested adding benadryl for the shakes I am getting ...
