dunno its only 4kv but at around 1.5 amps, i think its the heat the arc generates that allows it to be stretched. a fair bit of that wire is being vaporised though. hard to see in the video but the arc is pretty green on the half thats coming off of the wire(as in not coming off the chicken stick) and copper burns green right

Hmm, in just comparing your machine to the one I purchased just a year or 3 ago, yours is already faster than mine, the only difference I can see on the downside is mine has an AMD Athlon 64 3700+ processor. Yours has a faster processor speed, you have . 5 mb more ram etc. (although the model name sounds fishy "Salmon" - sorry, I couldn't resist). ...

Sounds like you want a nice multi-monitor graphics workstation setup. You can mix and match monitors in a dual setup so maybe adding an LCD might not be bad to just display the other utility programs running. I do not know how well an LCD can be calibrated to true colors. You probably want to shop for something similar to a "gaming" rig but won't necessarily use the extreme capabilities of...

I've beeen watching Ebay sales of these pedals for a long time and the popular model is always selling for around $400...If you techies could get something like it and sell it cheaper you could make a mint. I get to try/buy the first one though...

I don't think the optimum rpm is quite so important for a prop running in air as it is for a prop running in water. Plus, many prop-driven vehicles alter the speed of the vehicle by altering the rpm of the prop, so the exact rpm are clearly not that important.

hahahaha...now there's going to be a bunch of competition! Well, for those that don't want to silk-screen their own shirts , there's a couple of places I've found online that have great resources of geek t-shirts: Think Geek , the Penny Arcade Store , Shirt Woot's reckoning section , Threadless , and I'm sure a ton more that I'm forgetting!

why do you want tot turn it on from a distance away?
you could just buy a RC kit on ebay (1CH remote) which consists of a relay on the recieving end. The remote works up to like 600 feet away. I bough a 4channel version for my tesla coil and I've very pleased with it. a one channel costs about 12 dollars including shipping.

no not really,
these are very simple simulations
If you'd want a response, try to atleast spice up your materials and backgrounds
or maybe even do some real life physics simulations with things such as
voodoo and real life objects such as cars

How about starting simple - wiring up LEDs in series and parallel, adding resistors, maybe how to control banks of LEDs with single FLEDs. "Students" could then make their own small Christmas illuminations.
