Right then. As far as I know your best bet to get sleep working is through a custom kernel. As for the sound, I have no idea. It's possible your sound driver doesn't fully support your hardware.

The ""waiting for boot volume UUID ********* """ is to do with the system not being able to find the boot disk ( i think), although the drive must be found to get that far, If you do a search for that fault you will find something. Strange it only happens some of the time. Might be time for a clean install Might even be that your Hard drive is on the blink., do you have another hard drive, internal...

QUOTE (I'm a Pac @ Nov 18 2009, 06:48 PM) I have been trying to get my Hackintosh to work for about 3 weeks. Now that I've actually got it booting to Leopard, there are a few problems: 1. My screen resolution is stuck at 1024x768. I need a kext for the Nvidia GeForce 7000M to get it up to 1080x800 Go to the Project OSX forums and read the 'guide for all nvidia boards'.

That sounds like a graphics driver problem. What graphics support did you install along with iDeneb? My personal recommendation is that unless you know a particular combination of kexts is going to work, just install the bare minimum so you know the system can boot and then slowly add things afterwards. Also, try booting with just cpus=1 to see if it's a kernel issue. Then try just -x...

Interesting. If I remember correctly, there's a special Kalway version of the updater that goes up to 10.5.3, and from there on you can use the Combo update. I'd use Google to find out more.

Huh. I *think* you have to use a custom kernel with a Core i5. I don't know what your distro disk has but you might try Voodoo 9.7.0 or 9.5.0. If I remember correctly, the repeated restarting is caused by using an Apple kernel with incompatible hardware.

I stopped using my hackintosh for a while because I need to work with several windows-only 3D CAD packages. Anyway, I've been back for 2 weeks now and I found out that the new VoodooHDA audio kexts improves ALOT the audio support on my system: audiojack out allows me to plug my external speakers, internal speakers are usable, and even the mic gets some audio in. The internal ...

Hmm. My recommendation is try iAtkos with just NVinject and the EFI string. That worked perfectly when I borrowed a friend's 8800 GTS before I got my 9400 GT.

Hi Boot the first time manually with -X option Then get a soft called OSX86Tools (http://code.google.com/p/osx86tools/) and use this soft to add Flag, then you will be able to permanently have the -X flag during boot as it does modification in /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple .Boot.plist Regards, Polo

Hey! I'm running an nVidia GeForce 9400 GT with full QE/CI support. My card has a VGA, DVI, and HDMI output. While it's not the best card, it's certainly pretty powerful. I can run most games in Windows 7 at fairly high settings and it's way more than enough for the work I do in OS X. I'd imagine you could get a more powerful card like a 9800 GTX running but do you really need all ...

I installed 10.5.7 today using iATKOS v7 on a separate hard drive with no problems at all. So far EVERYTHING is working (knock on wood!)
