QUOTE (sdbinwiiexe @ Dec 24 2009, 12:40 AM) I have yet to hear of anyone actually attempting a Snow Leopard/7/Ubuntu Triple-Boot yet. This is not a tested method of installing an OSx86 Triple-Boot. Shrinking the Partition is a term that means that a user will use certain software to make a partition smaller, keeping the original data, but leaving less extra free room for future files. HFS+ (Hierarchical File System Plus) is...

Did the darwin trick or SL, so it comes with the loading screen and keeps waiting for the DVD. screen.jpg ( 89.26K ) Number of downloads: 5 I configured my CD-player to use an ISO, also tried DMG. Its just not seeing it and refuses to boot it. BTW I...

I've never been able to get BCD to boot to Chameleon/OS X. GRUB2 can do it, though. Or you can just install Chameleon. If you want to try setting the Mac partition to be active, click start menu, right click computer, and click manage. Click the disk management tab. Right click the partition, click mark as active.

Thank you in advance for any help. What are you trying to accomplish?? Â Dual booting or solely running the Mac OSX as your operating system. Â The old Mac Powerbook G4 runs around 800 Mhz (some ran at 867 Mhz) and it will support Leopard...

Hey man, its me again. I still havent found a way to fix the Window 7 partition into MBR after installing ubuntu yet.. SO what I do is at the begining of the triple installation I use the leopard's disk Utility to format the whole Hard Drive and make it purely MBR instead of GPT-MBR hybird thingy like other people suggest. This reduce the perfomance of OSX a little bit but if you can deal with it its the way to go. About the Grub loader....

It's amazing how often you find "install PC EFI" without further instructions when googling for it. On what that actually means I have to guess, though: "Install PC EFI" means: - double-click the .zip, it contains a file with the name "boot". Let's assume "boot" is now in /tmp. Then: CODE cd /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD/ sudo mv /tmp/boot . sudo chown...

QUOTE (joako @ Dec 25 2009, 02:58 PM) I have the same exact setup with the same exact issue except I am using Parallels 5. I think the issue is the bootloader. Did you install Win7 first and then OS X? I had similar issues in Linux trying to boot a Windows partition from VirtualBox. When you install Vista it installs its bootloader, then OSX overwrites it. This is fine since you are using the OSX bootloader e.g. PC_EFI but...

My idea of virtualization is having 6 operating systems boot on 6 surfaces of a 3D cube and they can interact with each other. And it can be virtualized in any booted OS environment too.

I haven't studied the guide you're following in depth, and I know nothing about your hardware; however, in general Windows 7 works only on MBR-partitioned disks (the exception being if your motherboard supports EFI, rather than being strictly BIOS-based), and OS X is easier to install to GUID Partition Table (GPT) disks. It's easier to overcome the latter problem than the former -- ...

I'm not very familiar with bcdedit, so I don't know precisely what it did; however, my suspicion is that you've changed the partition type code on one of your disk partitions. You should be able to correct the problem with a low-level disk utility, such as fdisk (part of OS X) or my own gdisk. Use fdisk if the disk is a pure-MBR disk, gdisk if it's pure- GPT or a hybrid MBR/GPT disk....
