Choice of wet food

Thanks for the clarification! My cat is goofy and doesn't like the good quality wet foods very well. I do what someone else in this thread said they do, and feed part high quality and part lower quality wet foods. I think part of the problem is that a lot of the good quality wet foods I've seen are loafs as opposed to chunks and gravy, which my cat prefers.

Yes, Carrie is correct in what I meant. Chicken and Turkey are EXCELLENT protein sources and very species appropriate IF it's real meat....NOT the by products. There is a huge difference between ground turkey thighs that you would buy at a grocery store or grind yourself and by products. Other meats that are acceptable would be rabbit, duck, lamb, venison, phesant, beef but just make sure its meat or rabbit meal or chicken meal is...

Your post sure has helped. I'm a single mom, with a limited budget. I want the best for Greyson, like I want to do the best for my son and me, but I also must live within a budget I can afford at the same time. I like how you use a mix of Fancy Feast and Wellness. I am going to get a few cans of some of the higher end foods and a few cans of some of the middle/upper middle foods and see which ones he likes. My ex MIL has always used...

I know you didn't direct your question to me, but I just happened to be rereading this thread. I think what Lynn meantis to make sure the food you use does not contain *any* kind of meat by-products, regardless of what the meat is. In other words, make sure the first ingredient is: Chicken, as opposed to: "Chicken by-products." You just want to make sure they're getting meat, as opposed to by-products. Many of the cheaper...

I wanted to come back sooner with an update, but my computer was giving me issues....anyway, my boy is doing so much better. He was given a second pain shot this past Friday and the vet things he might be good to go on that. But last week he started sneezing, so he's been on 'cold' pills for a week and now the sneezing seems to have gone away and the vet said to stop the pills tomorrow. He wants me to call him the Monday after...

I'm glad he's doing better. It's so stressful when our furbabies are sick or hurt. Gosh, I just noticed you're due any day now. I bet you're getting anxious huh?

My Beaker mostly ate Iams and Fancy Feast canned food. Greyson is currently enjoying Meow Mix pouches. Is this a good brand? I have been reading the ingredients labels on so many different brands my eyes are going crossed eyed. lol What do you all use for wet food? What are the best choices? * Thank you, Anne , for my fan_tab_ulous graphic sigs! *

HI there- I am new to this board but not to ivillage. I have an issue that I'd love some advice with! I have a 13 1/2 year old cat. She recently has peed outside of her litter box. The 1st time it was on a pile of dirty clothes/towels in the laundry room- near her litter box. I figured it was a fluke thing. Then it happened in the entry way- she peed on some coats that fell off the ...

Here's a bit of background: I have twin Maine Coon cats that will be 6 next month. They weigh 16 pounds each, one is male and the other female. In late September my female (Callie) wasn't feeling so hot. She started vomiting, stopped eating/drinking etc. We have a baby on the way, so we thought some was due to the changes going on in the house. Well, we took her into the vets, ...

My Grace has been sneezing a lot lately. And sometimes she makes a loud almost wheezing noise and looks like she is straining to vomit, but nothing comes out. She has a normal appetite and is drinking water. Box looks normal, no diarrhea. No noticeable fever. Her eyes look fine and her nose too. She also is very social and active, so I'm not sure if she's sick or not. The one time she was ...

Yeah I know, not the best quality, but its afordable to me, and that is what they like. My female (5yr) is super pick and was underweight till I found this food. My one male throws up everything else I've fed him. So other then them all being fat, this is an ...

They didn't run any blood work. they want to see how she does with the antibiotics and we will go from there. One of my cats, Beaugie (big tomcat type of kitty) seems to kneed an awful lot. He's two years old, and I've seen him kneed this one particular blanket for hours on end. I was told by a few people that this means he was taken away from his mother too soon. Is there any truth to this, and should I be concerned about this, or is it just normal for some kitties to do this?...

Okay....so one of our three kitties has peed in the laundry basket and on a pile of clean clothes. The last time this happened we only had one cat and come to find out she had a raging urinary tract infection. So....how do I determine which one of the three cats is sick????? Someone is also peeing A TON in the litter box. I don't want to have to take all three of them into the vet. Does ...
