Who reckons it's time for another UK meetup? This time a more structured one, where we book somewhere to eat in advance, stay (reasonably) sober, and actually talk about game development a bit more. I could bring a laptop with a game to show people etc. Seriously, we can do it without all drinking till 3am, I know we can! Anyone game for another meet?

I'm gonna give a talk on Tuesday, called "How to Make a Game Like Pacman". My previous talk, How to Make a Game Like Space Invaders" can be seen at http://talks.eochu.com . At my last talk, I showed a demo reel of various shooter games to show the evolution of Space Invaders. I'd like to do something similar this time. Please help me by replying with modern maze games that I can ...

Hello, I was wondering if some of s were going to the Leipzig Games convention ( http://www.gc-germany.com/index.php ) this year, and if we could set up a meet up near the convention.

The Escapist's indie-focused issue came out today, including an article by yours truly about the veterans of big mainstream studios who have "graduated" to going indie. You may recognize a few of these names... Going Rogue at The Escapist It was a lot of fun to write. Thanks to everyone who helped!

To All Utah Area Indies, Okay, it's way past time again to announce another Indie Games Night. It will be held on Thursday July 31st at 7pm at the Ninjabee Offices in Orem. We were orginally going to hold this at ITT-Tech this time, but due to some unforseen circumstances, we've had to move it to Ninjabee. Thanks again to Ninjabee for hosting this on such short notice. Email me (or PM ...

I have a beefy laptop which I prefer to my desktop. I don't have an LCD monitor for my desktop, though, so if I did get around to buying one, I might change my mind...but the laptop kind of gave me an excuse to not need one. I have a Dell Precision M90. It's about three years old now, but I haven't been playing Crysis or anything like that. Quake 4 ran just fine on it, as did Halflife 2, if...
