I was reading threads on shoes with interest as I am joining a Basic Course at NIM, Uttarkashi in another 10 days and wanted to get some pointers towards purchasing trekking shoes. I finally zeroed in on Adidas Terrex, a Goretex layered high ankle boot which is a fine fit and lighter than the woodlands. Got it in the Adidas showroom in Connaught Place inner circle, Delhi. Am based in delhi and the most accessible mountains to travel in to would be himachal/uttaranchal. Its been long since i have visited any of these states. hey, first, let me start by saying what a wonderful forum you have here. it's a gem chest for hikers, thank you! i'm 30yo software engineer (boring job , i know), but i love hiking and try to hike almost every other weekend. I'm coming to India for one month alone (25th September - 24 October) and would love to trek in the Himalaya.(himachal and uttarchal, but go to sikkim as well...
