Prepaid taxis to Pahar Ganj are not Rs 400, maybe Rs 250. I've never had a problem with them but they often ask if I have a reservation. Having heard a lot about scams where they make you go to another hotel by saying yours is full/burned down/cordoned off by protests, I always say my friend is already there and waiting for me, and then they always just take me there. I'm a female often traveling alone, by the way. Never had a...

Yes, Leader, you´re very right, SIKH. The thing is that in my primary language, spanish, it´s perfectly correct to "castellanize" a foreign term. Sij comes just as such term in the official "diccionario de la real academia de la lengua española". But excuse me, you´re right, since I´m writing in english. Let me add that I don´t see the point in getting into a blog just to correct somebody in a snappy,...

Wise? I'm not sure I actually understand it! But it sounds really good! I'm afraid I've been at the mercy of issues I have absolutely no control over--especially when traveling.

3. Cab fare to CP: if you take a radio cab, about 400 INR or so.

Depends on your priority...if you are into history and architecture fascinates you, the list (well a personal opinion) would be - 1. Qutub minar. 2.Red fort 3. Purana quila/Humayun's tomb. If you are into shopping, then my suggestions would be - 1. Chandni Chowk. 2. Lajpat Nagar market 3. Delhi hut. If your priority is to visit religious places then the list could be 1. Jama Masjid. 2. Just visited last week. During winter time (Oct - May) closed on Monday. If possible, try to arrange the return transportation in advance (like taxi or auto rickshaw). There are many tourists as well as touts over-charging auto fee outside the temple.
Don't know the auto fee from NZM to Gandhi Smitri. But there is a prepaid booth outside the exit at platform 1. The prepaid fee is very ...

Rob,
If you get any pics of Likir House, could you share them, as well as a review? I've booked a room there for my mother and myself in March, as what I could find written about them sounded decent and we wanted to be out of the main touristy areas. Good luck on your trip!

Our only day in Delhi is a Monday
We arrive in Delhi late Sunday night and leave for Agra early Tuesday morning. We had organised a private vehicle to take us on a day tour of Delhi on the Monday, but now realise that a lot of the tourist sites ( including the Red Fort which was to be the highlight ) will be closed. Can anyone suggest the ...

Hmmm... Welcome to the site, but the honest answer to your question is probably not.
The core purpose of the site is travel, and the majority of what is posted here is about travel, by those from outside India and those inside. In the next area moving outwards from this, we have the ex-pat situation, where employment or relationship have brought people to India, and they can share their ...
