And this one, on the India of the "good old days:" filmed in the late 1960s was Louis Malle's PHANTOM INDIA. This is the India I first visited in 1971 -- it is very different from they way things are now.

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na is good, just watched it. A nice sweet romantic comedy...
I haven't seen Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, but every review I read about it says that the movie is bad, better to avoid.

We are in the middle of watching The Story of India narrated by Michael Woods. We rented it. http://www.pbs.org/thestoryofindia/ There is a 5 min. trailer on this page.
It's two disks and last night we watched the first 2 hours of the first disk with one hour left. Then we will get the second disk for the rest of it.
It is well done, very comprehensive starting with ancient ...

Although not being a real loyal guidebook user, my question would be if price is at all an issue then why not order a good used 2007 or 2008 version online before you go ..... there can't be that much of a drastic content change, at least nothing that one couldn't do some quick mental conversions/extrapolations for, in a year or two one would think.
