The question asks if you were ever arrested. You say you were arrested. So it seems to me that the answer should be a resounding YES.

So it is perfectly fine for her to come over we get married and then she heads back? I just heard from a lawyer who said that this can be considered fraud because the intent would always be to immigrate. Just dont want to end up on the wrong side of the law.

I did 3 months at start of year on VWP, and then came back to the UK for 2 months and then back to USA again for another 3 months on VWP. I have to come back every so often as I own a house but it will be rented as of 7thDec so will have nowhere to go and hope to go to USA earlier than my I-20 30day grace. I just need to know if I can go in on VWP with a return flight and then return to USA when I can get in on my F-1? Cheers

Howdy, I'm thinking of applying to for a tourist visa to the US and was wondering what the answer should be to section 38 in visa from DS-156. Section 38 38. IMPORTANT: ALL APPLICANTS MUST READ AND CHECK THE APPROPRIATE BOX FOR EACH ITEM. A visa may not be issued to persons who are within specific categories defined by law as inadmissible to the United States (except when a waiver is obtained in advance). Is any of the following...

Immigration info from the New...

This does apply to anyone seeking citizenship in the US, but the information source I am citing is based out of New York and will probably be the most effective for those who live in the NYC area. I--or, more tellingly, my wife--went through a number of immigration obstacles throughout my marriage and eventually found myself consulting, both online and in person, the NYC firm entitled Thaker Law. Their website features up to date information...

I'm a british citizen and I married my US partner in the US. I did not mention to immigration that I was going there to get married but I did not lie about it either, just they didn't ask. I had no problem getting married and then left a few weeks later without any problems. You might be supposed to apply for a fiance visa but if they aren't staying then at least for me it wasn't necessary.

I thought the visa waiver was only valid for 90 days? I'm afraid you need to wait until the start date because you've exhausted your alloted visitor days this year.

Hello Everyone, I'm going to USA for my pilot training next year on a F-1 Visa, issued by my Flight School. After I'm done training, the flight school allows me to work as an flight instructor in their school. But I also want to pursue my graduation college degree(Computer Engg), while I'm working as an Instructor in the flight school. Is that possible ?

I'm not an expert, but I don't know how you can 'activate' the visa unless you start working for your employer. Would you actually be employed after going back to the UK to finish your PhD (e.g. taking a sabbatical from work)? By the way, I recommend you post on the following forum, where you'll find many more people familiar with US immigration matters: http://britishexpats.com/...
