Bagster for Pacific Blue RS?
Published (2009-12-30 12:34:00)
I've done quite a bit of searching and have determined the closest colour match is a "2002 K1200RS/GT Blue". I hope I ordered ther right colour! Anybody else know more? I also ordered a City Trail tank bag as I prefer a smaller, more compact tank bag to hold the essentials. http://www.motorbikesandparts.co.uk/...ducts_id=18694 I had a Bagster tank cover and City Trail tank bag on my 2005 Triumph Tiger 955i and I loved...

Just bought my 02 RS a month ago. 13k miles, garage kept. It even came with about 1k in upgrades. I paid 6k for it Even if you could buy a new one, why would you want to? A dealer would still want fairly close to MSRP for one. You can see the deals on a slightly used one.

An 06+ GT is nite and day beyond anything in the touring segment. They are faster, handle better and are better travellers than the prior models. You choose what you think about the looks. For me...I'd never consider a slant r4 against the brick...brick loses.!

exhaust question
Published (2009-12-29 01:21:00)
My 03 GT (same exhaust, engine,etc..) had a Remus titanium exhaust. It looked and sounded awesome. Turned heads wherever I went. Personally I prefer the stock exhaust becasue of how nice it looks and its quiet. The sound of the remus was great but more of a novelty item, I prefer very quiet. Staintune makes a good product as well. I am sure either one would be great. Keep in mind a power commander may be required with an exhaust. My GT had to...

Hmm..... The problem with security ideas is the bad guys read these posts and start looking over Beemers for the key. If you think the ignition key is bad to lose, wait 'till you have an alarm/immobiliser fitted and want to defeat that!

That would be a trick! I've not seen any new ones but have seen plenty of low-mileage RS' <10K... I'm sure if you were patient you could score one from someone who doesn't ride a lot.

TJD, I have one. It works fine. Like all small pumps it takes a little while to fill the large rear tires, but it is better than using a cartridge. There are many other manufacturers and I do not have information on those to compare overall performance. I've had mine 2 years and it still works great. Good Luck.

It's probably my clumsiness but I bend the fingers that hold the teats on the turn signal pods on my 2000 K12RS. About 15K miles ago I bought new innards for the pods/turn signals. This Got me new "fingers" but was expensive and sort of the long way around to get those fingers. Anyone have a source for those fingers without all the accompanying plastic of the pod? splinelube

I recently took all the plastic off of my K12RS (to save some money on sched maint) and found a large (1 1/2") paint bubble on the crank side engine case. It's a K-Bike! 1. Put gas in top 2. Check once in a great while to see that there is oil in the bottom. Some. Anywhere in the sight glass except above the dot. Don't check it every time you ride it unless you're being mistaken for the mosquito fogging truck or leaving a trail like the Exxon Valdez. A BMW will drive you crazy enough already without you contributing to the process......
