Wow! Lots of good arguments and evidence and speculation over the last dozen pages! It has been stated here that science does not work on proof; that is correct. For a theory to be proven "true" it must be able to rule out any scientific challenge or similar validity from any competing theory. Can it be paid for by a tax increase? Otherwise you're asking for a system which provides care to millions of people (and all the manpower and materials costs involved in that) without costing any money. As to private companies, if some can't compete in the new market, should they be protected?

I read the same article and you captured my thoughts exactly. The police should charge the mother with calling in a false 911. The policeman should be disciplined for poor judgement in using a taser on a child. A judge should throw the case out for the juvenile charge because the police chief is showing poor judgement in even filing it. After all that is done, someone needs to talk to the ...

It was not a very compelling ad to make me want to buy their tires. Even at the end, the animals walking around still had tire marks on them. Cute-ish, cartoonish did not help temper the imagery. It was not so much offensive as, well as you say uncomfortably disturbing. Kind of like the things kids shout out in church. Very odd.

Hi Anthony (fellow red?) Having just done an MSc Strategic Quality Management dissertation I hope I may be of some use. I think it is a very interesting topic and I think one you could gain a lot from. Sorry I don't know what level your course is and whether this is for a dissertation or thesis? It would be a huge subject and you have already highlighted areas worthy of individual studies ...

Happy Thanksgiving! I am proud of your son, that's a fine thing! My husband and son are off hunting at the camp, so I am here alone eating leftover KFC. I am using this time to also try to find the hard drive storing all the albums he put on there, and didn't back up before the thing started doing its click of death. If I can get them transferred to a portable hard drive, I will wrap the ...
