All,
I would really appreciate if you could give me some hints on how do Product and Process Development Plans and Purchasing department processess interface in the case of Ford.
Were there any major modifications to the GPDS Version 2 which was issued in July 2007.

I you are not supplying parts PPAP is not relevant to you!
PPAP refers to PARTS only.
Please try to discuss this with your customers

Despite the fact that PPAP is called a process the real process is in the
APQP system and the PPAP is only the documentation of the actions taken in the development of part and process.
However pretty the pieces of paper you are putting the cart before the horse.
You need to study APQP and its stages and tools before you can report the actions in the PPAP documents.
