Make sure you evaluate the thinner distros (damn small linux might be too much so, but it's of that class) if you find that the full blown ones are too much for the hardware. I have VMs running DSL and DeLi, and they both seem to work pretty well. I have an old laptop that I am going to try to get running with them in order to monitor my weather station. IIRC, Xubuntu is the thinnest Ubuntu ...

If the 16V/5A doesn't work, I would simply go to fleabay and look for an adapter sold to work with your particular model of Toughbook. Cheap accessory sellers are a dime a dozen there so you should be able to find an adapter for relatively cheap. And I'd guess you know this but remember to make sure that the polarity on the adapter is the same as on the laptop! Additionally, I'd also look at...

I have got a Jornada 680. I bought it to run Jlime. Abiword isn't too good though. And I am sad to say PocketWord looks a lot better. I am currently trying to track down a 16-bit ethernet card as my wi-fi card is B only and sloooooooooooow. But as you are on my ignore list that is as far I can take the conversation. Plus the bastard Load_Cycle problem has returned to my NC10 since the ...

Netbook vs. notebook vs. laptop? Question for the IT savvy here - I may be relocating for work, and while at work, I'll have a laptop/desktop that is from the office, but I'd need a personal computer of sorts too, since I can't do personal emails etc from work. I've ruled out a desktop given the relocation and likelihood that ...
