Warcraft Anniversary Page Unveiled
Published (2009-11-27 07:16:00)
Blizzard Entertainment recently unveiled a new page on its World of Warcraft site to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Warcraft franchise and the 5th anniversary of WoW. Currently featuring a video showcasing the developers' feelings about Warcraft, Blizzard will update the site over the next few weeks with interviews, videos, and a new anniversary Blizzcast. Over the past five years, a lot has changed in Azeroth. Valiant heroes have...

Jeff Vogel On Making Games Easier
Published (2009-11-29 09:29:00)
I'm with Rhywun and DaveyJJ: I expect it is an age thing for me as well. That, and I have a boat load of responsibilities and obligations your average teenage gamer doesn't have. Gaming (I'm hesitant to admit) is not my life. Accordingly, I would rather spend my money on a game that erred on the side of easiness than on the side of difficulty. I play games to relax, escape, and have a good time. I've got little time for...

Planet M.U.L.E. Strategy Title...

Yep, EA was something else when they were Electronic Arts, and not EA Games. Both names are quite fitting for their respective time periods. I'm not even sure what "EA" stands for these days, though I have a pretty good idea about the "A" part. --Eric

QUOTE(Maxor127 @ November 26th 2009, 08:38 PM) I still play the original through emulation from time to time. If this one is true to the original, free or priced very cheap, and has online play, then I'll be interested. Graphics are important too. I prefer the old C64 graphics. I tried an NES version and didn't like it at all. Turbozilla's other game (Mad Skills Motorcross) is only $20, so I assume...

Avernum 6 Now Available
Published (2009-11-21 01:45:00)
Wow. An Avernum game with the much improved Geneforge 5 engine? And an epic plot which promises the total trashing of a world you've been fighting to save over the course of five games? Sold. I've been waiting for this since Vogel announced this on his blog, and the minute I saw it was released, it was an instant buy for me. I just hope the GIFTS turned out okay.

Aquaria Official Soundtrack...
Published (2009-11-23 08:54:00)
If anyone has an ear for music, especially for video game music, I highly recommend this soundtrack. It's beautiful, soothing, exciting, exotic, dark and very thematic. It captures the moods of the levels perfectly and gives you a feeling of commitment to the game that i haven't experienced in a long while. This is the way a lot of game music soundtracks should be presented.

X3: Terran Conflict Trailer...

I got it a week or two ago, and it's an amazing game! Perhaps not everyone's cup of tea, but you have total flexibility to pursue business (legal or illegal; manufacture, transport, taxi; in person or via minions), fighting (pirate-style, or opposing pirates; single-handed or commanding wings of ships), both, or other options. You're not locked into any path. It's also a HUGE place with lots of interactions and...

Planet M.U.L.E. Strategy Title...
Published (2009-11-25 17:44:00)
A minor correction: Worms was and is a Team17 franchise, not EA's. Too bad it's pretty much the only thing they're doing these days. They've made some pretty great games in their Amiga heydays.

QUOTE(the Battle Cat @ November 27th 2009, 06:05 PM) He is right you know. This bit the Japanese in the butt big time. Pearl Harbor should have been over and won in a couple hours but they had no idea that Pearl Harbor was an infinite American spawn point. At least it extended the game for them from two hours to 4 years, but on the down side, by the end of it everybody had to pee...
