QUOTE(Tetsuya @ December 16th 2009, 12:35 PM) suggestion: get over it. Unless you mean to suggest you never bought any game before the advent of online-downloads. (which is a pretty recent thing). I call shenanigans. And if discs are that big of an issue, take yourself 2 minutes to teach yourself how to use Toast to make a 2MB disc image. It isn't hard. Get over it, yourself. I am free to choose not to purchase software...

QUOTE(clocknova @ December 16th 2009, 10:42 AM) Limited installs is the definition of overly restrictive. As I already pointed out. Thanks. *Sigh* your making a tiny issue seem a lot bigger Bioshock and Brothers in Arms are the only two games I know of on D2D that have install 'limits'. If you run into the limit just give them a quick 5 min call and they reset ur limit, and you can do that unlimited times....

QUOTE(clocknova @ December 16th 2009, 08:50 AM) Disc checks are exactly why I don't buy physical software. I hate having to find the disc before I can play my games. suggestion: get over it. Unless you mean to suggest you never bought any game before the advent of online-downloads. (which is a pretty recent thing). I call shenanigans. QUOTE(clocknova @ December 15th 2009, 05:55 PM) Perhaps. But I'd dather run the PC version in Crossover than use a Cider version. But I'll wait for some reviews and see. Cider tends to be marginally faster because of better Driver support and fullscreen implimentation but most of the time it's in the >10% range as both are Wine based. Personally I'm torn between just sticking with my Windows version...

QUOTE(Hansi @ December 13th 2009, 08:31 PM) Add the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Wine/DirectInput/MouseWarpOverride = "force" or the mouse will have only 180 degree mouvement. The menu will become only keyboard driven. Excuse my ignorance - but where do I add it? thanks!

I bought Jade Empire from Gametreeonline and didn't notice any DRM issues/problems thus far. Yes a truly native port would be preferable however at least with this release I'll be able to play a great game seamlessly in Mac OS X. If it's Bioware I'm buying You can't say things are that bad in Mac gaming at the moment .. HOI:3, Bioshock, Dragon Age, X3: Terran Conflict, Rome: Total War (just around the corner ) etc....

QUOTE(clocknova @ December 16th 2009, 04:42 PM) Limited installs is the definition of overly restrictive. As I already pointed out. Thanks. Except, all it takes is a simple email and they will reset your installs, as I pointed out. I've never had to do this, but from what I've read people don't have a problem doing this. They will do it for you, no questions asked. I can understand why they have it, otherwise...

Aspyr in trouble?
Published (2009-12-14 13:55:00)
QUOTE(Sargiel @ December 13th 2009, 09:01 AM) Hmm I'm not sure how material that is. I'm more than computer literate enough to give those ports a go - but at the end of the day I prefer native ports and that's where I put my money. And I'm sure that's where most of Aspyrs market sit - if we didn't we'd all be using bootcamp and they'd not have a Mac market.. Ditto - I much prefer a...

Aspyr in trouble?
Published (2009-12-13 02:09:00)
I think that Aspyr also experience heavy competition from Codeweavers which now explicitly support amateur game porting for Mac OS X on WineHQ and independent Mac user groups using Wine such as The Porting Team.

QUOTE(clocknova @ November 3rd 2009, 01:56 PM) It's starting to look like we may finally have the true spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate. Does anyone think there is a chance we might see this on OS X? January 2011 is my estimate. Not waiting for the Mac version. :/

QUOTE(teflon @ December 10th 2009, 04:43 PM) According to this , Aspyr are reported to have axed half their workforce, and are down to being a barebones group... Likely this could be down to a fair number of their recent ports not doing so good (I know I haven't bought them, and they're not exactly critically acclaimed ports...), but since they've just done Call of Duty Classic for...

Gameranger is a very small company (I'm not even sure if there is more than one guy behind it), so it might take a while till they respond. However, I assume the most likely reason for your problem is that your firewall blocks a necessary port. If I recall correctly, Gameranger requires port 16000 to be open and when this is blocked, you won't get a connection....

QUOTE(roders @ November 27th 2009, 10:26 PM) I'm desperate to find the name of a 2d side scrolling platform game with the lead/main character (and some most of the backgrounds) made out of paper. This is the best way I can describe it, I want to take advantage of the black friday sales so speed is of the essence!! "And yet it Moves" is the Game if anyones interested....
